Содржина: Feel for the metrics

Hi everyone,,

I am a little newbie here and I am sorry if my questions have already been asked elsewhere, but after reading the Guide, looking in the forum and reading stuff in PPM Mag (pretty cool BTW), I could not find a comprehensive answer to my basic questions.

I have played a similar game in the past and I guess the basics are pretty much the same :

A. Build your facilities, prioritize what allows to grow from within.
B. Develop your players once your training facilities are high enough.
C. Be patient and make your way up slowly.

The thing is that I have a hard time getting a "feel" for the metrics of the game to set myself on a good path with reasonable expectations. Simple stuff such as :

1. What is the OR of a super star in in top-tier, second-tier, and third-tier leagues?

2. What is the average OR of top 6 players in top-tier, second-tier, and third-tier?

3. At what pace players should be expected to develop at different stages of investment in the training/regeneration facilites?
--- 3.a Considering 3, at what stage of development of those facilities is it worthwhile to start developing your own players?
--- 3.b If I happen to be lucky enough tu pull a high quality player, at what sate of development of the facilities should I start consider keeping him instead of selling to cash in?

4. While I am building the facilities allowing to grow from within, is it worthwhile to buy cheap but better players than those I currently have? The idea being that a better team should be able to make more money. So, would the investment in slightly better players (i.e. only being competitive in my current league without promoting) be worthwhile or not?

5. There are many "side stuff" in this game such as the staff. At what stage of development of a team are they worthwhile considering?

Thanks to all and I apologize if my questions are redundant! Hopefully, answers to my questions will turn into a useful guide for beginners from experienced players!

3: Your best bet is to buy older good players who train slowly. They'll get you wins which gets money and you can develop facilities. No point investing in youth early as you will burn their best years of development as you have bad facilities. Thus, if you pull a superstar, sell him. Granted, he'll likely be low in attributes and won't fetch much anyway.

5: Go here, look at the bottom appendix. All my info articles are listed. One includes economizing staff per facility level. In fact, many discuss staff as their salaries are quite large especially for n00b teams.

By simply asking the questions you are, your already on the right track. Reading all of canucks articles is a great place to start, lots of awesome information. Part of getting a "feel" for most of it is just being active, playing around with the market to see how expensive guys get, check out other teams, just navigate everywhere to see what they are doing.

It's a slow building process so you have lots of time to get a feel for it.
