Update on the staff experiment. Small sample sizes and all that jazz.

Normal staff efficiency is 71/66 & 63/64. 65k each, 14.5M total per season.
Weaker staff is 33/27 & 34/27. 6k each, 1.34M total per season.

Average staff will be around 50/50 & 50/50. 25k each, 11M total per season.
Stud staff will hopefully be better than 95/95 & 95/95. 170k each, 38M per season.

Weaker staff trained at an average of 1.051. That's 0.17 better than no staff. Almost 20 OR per season for a miniscule investment.

Normal staff trained at an average of 1.243. That's 0.192 better than the weaker staff. Almost 22 OR per season. +13M in salary for 22 OR? Over 5 seasons, that's 65M for 100OR. Is that worth it?

No staff is definitely a bad thing. But I'm not seeing the huge difference from the staff that I expected. I'm going to get some 50/50 physios & coaches this/next week. Then jump up to the 100/100 big dogs if I can get them cheap enough with short contracts. That should be interesting. Since I'm rebuilding, I'll have more high Q players and less old guys slowing the training down. So, unlike me, the results will actually favor of the staff:D

I just wanted to say that I sold my assistant lecturer and now have only one head lecturer. I didn't notice a huge drop in staff training value. Some staff with qualities in the low 90s went from 0.30 training to 0.27. One guy how has really low quality in a certain attribute, 34 Q, went from 0.15 training to 0.14. I can live with that. Oh, and my education facility is level 10.

My point is that considering that I'm not losing much in staff training, I think I'll stick to just one lecturer. He's now 50/55 and I've stopped training him. The other guy was about the same but I don't have to deal with his daily salary anymore.

I would like to try something similar with the doctors but I'm a bit hesitant. I have level 10 there as well and both of them are 50/50 OR and stopped training. I'm thinking, instead of just keeping one doctor, I might keep one 50/50 OR guy as a head doctor, and I'll keep a younger guy, say 25/25-ish OR as an assistant, but I'll train him up to 50/50. Eventually I'll let one of their contracts expire and then find another assistant. Perhaps when I reach level 12 I'll just keep one head doctor and call it a day. I don't know. We'll see.

I've had no physicians since June 20th. Only two injuries since. Which is about the same pace as I had with Physicians. I'm going to do this at least a month to see what happens. Then I'll probably build MC11. If things get too bad, I'll pick up some 50/50 doctors until that's complete. Then repeat the process.

I dropped my lecturers a long time ago. All they do is increase my daily costs in the worst possible spot- the staff.

What's your scouting % if you have no managers? hmm, Maybe I'll turn them off both and see what happens. Thing is I still have to scout the U18 team before I get rid of them.

Scouting was 69% with lvl 11HR. I just upgraded to lvl 12 and it's now 81%. I assume lvl 13 will increase scouting by 13%?

I'll be buying managers around sponsor time.

I "unassigned" my managers, and although scouting went to 0%, daily scouting was still 92%, so not bad. Then I only made one guy head manager, and daily scouting went up to 104%, with scouting 23%. I think I can totally live with that during the season. It would be an interesting experiment to try at the end of the season with sponsor offers though. It's just that you can't really compare season to season because you only get 4 days per season to compare.

I don't think I have the balls to mess with the managers come sponsor time:D Even if they only give me +10%, that's still around 30M per season.

They injured 3 of my players since we started talking about the value of Physicians. So I bought some Physicians today. Leave me alone, dammit:(

I also finally managed to snag enough 50/50 coaches & physios to continue that experiment. That took much longer than expected.


In happier news, I'm thoroughly enjoying my rebuild. I highly recommend it if you're getting a bit bored and your team doesn't have a great future. I have to go for lower OR because I can't afford to pay 100M for each player, but I'm digging the players I am getting.

Just a heads up. I'm running camps over the next two weeks. So all the 15 year olds will be removed from the lineup. They'll be replaced by the former starters who I haven't sold yet (damn market fees) and some train & sells. These players will be much better than the ones I've been sending out there lately.

Not that this should affect any of the teams I'm playing. Your normal starters would crush either lineup I use. I just wanted to give fair warning just in case any of you were contemplating using a lesser lineup expecting to play my kids.

And even though it won't matter, yes Leggmann, I will be playing you on Very High. I might even change my tactic:D

The staff experiment is on hold due to Training Camps. My kids are training like mofos. Most of them will gain 40-50 OR over the two camps. Team average is over 2.00! Anyway. Here's a quick rundown of the staff stuff so far.
No staff = 0.881 (only 1 training session)
33/27 staff = 1.051 +18%
53/53 staff = 1.210 +15% (will be re-done after camps)
67/65 staff = 1.280 +7% (avg 3 most recent)

Of course there has been huge player turnover lately. So the later experiments are getting better trainers than the earlier. I think the salary almost doubles from the 53/53 to the 67/65 guys. For +7%. Eww.
