In other news, thank you GJ for fixing my mistake of last season xD We had no business being in that division whatsoever, so that proves to me that it was time I stepped down a little.

Although I do know it is about time for me to update my scouting reports. I may actually just focus on handball next season (even if there isn't that much going on on that side), and leave someone else the job of being assistant. I'll just cruise for a season and see how things go ;P

I personally care more about achieving good results for our country than sharing the power. Which is why I am willing to back any good candidacy for our country, but not new GMs who have no experience (both because they would not perform as well and because they might go inactive mid-season).

I applied again this season because the only candidate has no experience in the game and I don't want our hard work to go to waste.

If you wish to GM U18s next season, I would gladly give you my spot as it is time consuming.

If you register for U18 candicldacy, I will tell people to vote for you in the 2nd round of elections.

I used to have the help of Xavies, but now that he is very quiet, it's just me and some foreign dudes and managers nice enough to take the spot and make me assistant while I do the rest of the work xD

btw, players 20, 19 and 18 (next season) have been updated. The batch of 17yos to be is huge, so I'm taking a bit of a break. Gonna weed 'em down as per usual. I probably should update the players in the archive. some of them may be senior-ready at this point.

You can see our love for hockey. All of those positions are filled by Canadians.
In every other sport, there are foreign-filled GM/Asst.GM positions or vacancies

I am inclined to agree with Edward on this topic.
In a democratic country such as ours, it is up to the voters to decide who they think is best suited to accomplish the task.
Our national image is involved. If it's the same person for several years, it must be because he/she is doing a good job, or no one else wants the job.
So be it. A bad showing affects our world ranking for four seasons.
Being a national GM requires more player research, a good understanding of tactics, and the ability to assess player's talent accurately.
Unless you have other managers with Pro Pak to help you, you will probably need it to do a good job.
Also, you need to be available for comment or criticism on several forums.
You need to be an active manager with experience and the extra time to devote to a national team.
It is not a job that should go to a IV.4 manager unless no one else wants it.
That appears to be very unlikely in Canadian hockey.

This game suffocates new players. They walk into a world of kicking the shit out of league controlled teams and having the shit kicked out of them by established clubs. The years of competitiveness for new GM's is long, long gone. 99% of them quit in the first few weeks. For the few that actually hang around this game they are doomed to the second division and mediocrity. The national level is now totally controlled by the clique which it is now run by. I am amazed that domrochon still actually tries. Rather than invite other guys in the group to be your assistant why don't you make friends with one of the little guys down at the bottom and groom them to take off your job? That would help the Canadian system...
Sarcasm? Rather than ask someone who doesn't play the sport to be your assistant, why not try some poor loser that actually does...

Ok Paul, stop this idiot talk. First off, I am drunk. It may be why I will be so direct in this post.

First off, it is not us that make it impossible for new GMs to get involved, but the nature of the game. It takes 2000+ days to become relevant. If your facilities are lower than others, you are in a hole until you can climb out of it and even then, I still feel in a hole compared to those who have a ton of money to grab the best youngsters. So new GMs have very small odds of sticking around.

But when they do, they will get their chance at becoming NT managers. I wasn't a GM until the door opened up for me. I showed interest by becoming AGM for Krokador on U20s and learned how it was done then. At this point, I was able to grab the U18 after you left. If you recall correctly, I didn't even want to take it from you because I was happy with your GMing... But you left. Now you act sour like it is someone else's fault. Or like we did something wrong.

I really appreciate your humour and your presence and I like you generally, but right now you are being a pain in the ass with your attitude.

The game is what it is and it's not the fault of the GMs that stick around. Appreciate it for what it is, know it's fault and enjoy what it is while it is here.

Canada isn't a powerhouse (in terms of amount of teams) and it will never be, but I will make sure it gets the best results possible while I am here.

Go back to drinking. People who are sour don't drop out of the election when they are winning. I support a strong national presence and the development of the Canadian game as a whole. Not a small circle of acquaintances who have become too accustomed to hearing their own voices. If other GM's actually cared enough to read these national boards they might come to the same conclusion as myself.

I voted for you in the preliminary round and will continue to vote for you in the final round. That is my choice. But do note that six others did not vote for you and that should say something considering you won a medal last season and will win another this season. Someone in your position should pitch a shutout in this situation but obviously some others have a similar stance to my own. Whose to know how many other GM's with no prospects in league play and no prayers on the national level might still be around if there was some sense of rotation at the top. If I am not mistaken, wasn't it Krokador who was posting how she almost gave up the game and then with her national team status she felt rejuvenated by the game? Too bad the PPM gods over there in Europe didn't put term limits on the presidency - they simply left it to the individual GM's themselves to sort out a system that doesn't eat itself. Some nations obviously do that better than others. I grew up in a family which shared...

Look Paul, I didn't mean to offend you. I respect your right (and desire) to be a NT manager again. I just meant to exercise my right to choose my candidate and state my reasons for doing so as is the right of all in a democratic system. After being gone for two seasons from NTs, you are still immensely popular among Canadian GMs. I respect you for that and all you have achieved as well as your upbeat personality, but I felt it was right to give my support and opinion to a GM who had only 1 season to prove his worth and did well. In my opinion, that was sharing the power more than going back to someone we all knew.

I applaud DomRochon's candidature as well and feel he should get his chance sooner than later.

I also don't understand what you blame me for. You seem to think I am hanging on to power, when I have been at the helm for 3 seasons.. maybe 4 next SSN. You have been U18 GM for 5 seasons including 4 seasons in a row. How is that any different?

Anyway, I apologize for attacking you. It was not my desire. I have tremendous respect for you and all GMs who care about Canada. There are not enough of us to start fighting amongst ourselves. My main goal with my message was to state my support for GeorgeJeanne who, IMO, has done a fine job and to hopefully help him be GM another season.

There aren't any "young" managers to groom in handball. Even though the job is a lot less extensive because of the smaller player base, no one really wants to step up. And I would rather be at the helm, or have someone that doesn,t do very well with the sport but is willing to learn it, than have a foreign manager who hardly communicates with the nation and barely understands english in the first place (which is what sanipyu seems to be).

I have had a rotation of different assistant managers during my U20 tenure in hockey. I was also myself assistant a lot - I do have a high scouting and the reins of that spreadsheet, and the only one that has made additions to it that I know of was Samuel.

There was a number of guys that actually stepped up and asked to be assistant to learn the ropes and I have happily obliged - and this after I actually came in as assistant one season to save the team from a GM that did not care. And one season I applied because the only other candidate was some no-name dude from another country whose english was questionable at best.

I have no intention of monopolyzing the position. In handball I'm doing it cuz I seem to be the only one who cares with the time on her hand anymore. I would do it here if needed, because I know our player base very well and would hate to see it mishandled by some foreign dude.

I would suggest whoever gets the spot get in touch with domrochon and offer the assistant position to him. I'll just be an advisor. That's actually more in line with what I can offer atm, anyway.
