So, I've noticed a general trend of a lot of people losing interest in PPM. I, myself, am still interested due to the continual success i've had over the past few seasons. I have both teams in I.1 of both sports, and I feel I have a good gameplan for improving both going forward.
My question to everyone in Canada is: Are you still interested in PPM?
If yes, then feel free to share why, like I have above.
If no, then please feel free to share why as well. Suggestions, things that tick you off, things that PPM can do better, I want to hear all these things.
Common Complaints:
- OTR is a bad system
- Don't like the promo/relegation rule changes
- Too difficult to catch up to the early adopters
Let's see if we can come up with some ways to improve PPM.

I have mixed feelings about this. I can't see myself leaving PPM anytime soon, however with the continuing frustrating losses to teams that I should beat it gets to you. I know losing to underdogs is part of sports and I appreciate and respect that PPM has that in place. However, and as sad as this sounds, the consistent losing often ruins my day. I guess that comes from putting a lot of time and care into my teams as well as improving the game. But nevertheless, my soccer team is really breaking my heart these days.
Also, the promotion OTR changes I'm not overly fond of. There are teams with half my OTS in hockey and have higher OTR than I just because they promoted. The same will happen in soccer. I'm 3rd in OTR but will be past by decent div2 teams which means that for things like the NC I'll be seeded lower and as OTR is the tie-breaker for getting into CWC I'd lose out on that too. It's a shame but I do feel under the current system the best plan for your team is to relegate and promote constantly.

this game is so young and patience is the best thing to get in your team. it s just because of the summer when NHL will strart back all the blog and games about hockey will go crazy and PPM will be interesting again
You wait until you see a team with 35OTS having more OTR than you when you're in your 8th season (half of which in div1) and them in their 3rd (all lower leagues)...

I agree with canucks357's say on the unrealistic losing.. It's really frustrating when you lose to the lesser teams(especially in soccer) after you have dominated the game in possession and shots..
Other than that, I think this is a brilliant game.. I actually stopped playing 3D managing games like Football Manager, mainly because this game is online and gives a more realistic feeling.
Any complains? Well, my hockey team recently suffered consecutive injuries to my top LW, then my no.2 LW, then finally my temporary no.1 LW who I just bought..
-sigh- I can't believe I'm this unlucky!

I don't disagree with upsets. Upsets are a key part of sports. I think they have a good system in that regard. It's just frustrating when you end up on the 10% chance of losing more than 10% of the time. Strictly bad luck. Soccer is inherently a close sport to begin with, a sport where a large spread in skill will mean a blow out like in other sports due to the commonly low scores as it is. That being said, the drastic night-and-day I've seen this season compared to last boggles my mind.
My pro pack renews in September and it is about 50/50 if I renew. In hockey I find the gap between the best teams and the lower teams growing. To me there are not enough upsets. I do not like the randomness (1star to 5 star) in sponsor and media money. Absolutely dislike vandalism and stadium repairs. Sports academy pulls are a sore spot as well. The real problem is if I come to believe it is impossible or just takes too long a time to get to compete with the best teams I will just lose interest.
The soccer game engine is awful. We don't even get keeper stats. I have found no other soccer game so devoid of statistics.
Despite all the negativism above it is still the best online hockey game I have played.

I don't think the gap is growing. I think that all the strong teams are now in the I ans II leagues. Some III teams are also strong enough to promote and stay in the top leagues.
The gap between the leagues is growing, but the gap between the teams in the same league is getting smaller every season, i think.

I tend to agree. I think the odds of a d2 team beating a d1 team have really grown compared to season 4/5. Look at some teams that relegated this past season. Long-time div1 teams.
I like this game because it has a good basis for the games and the simulation. I like the financial aspect of it where it isn't just completely simple, some decisions need to be made on staff and players.
What I dislike:
- OTR/Promotion bonuses. They are just ridiculous. As canucks already stated, I hate this system and it is ruining the game.
- Lack of implementation/communication with suggestions. I have made and seen a bunch of good suggestions, none of which are implemented even though they are easy (like chat filters for sports).
- Line choosing. I simply despise having to redo my lines because of how long it takes and how annoying it is. I wish I could just drag and drop lines. If they implemented some flash/whatever to enable a drag and drop of lines it would make life so much easier. The scratch system is also annoying. It is more detrimental to have scratches and getting a scrub on my top line than to have the computer sort them by Primaries.
- Cookie cutter builds. Almost teams are the EXACT SAME! Why the hell should all teams be built to a 2:1:1 ratio with primaries and secondaries set for position? Why can't we have more attributes that need to be trained and allow more variety in players/teams? I wish I could make a team that is more aggressive and punishing, a heavy hitting team, with injuries depending on game play. If you have a team of big checkers, chances of injuries should be raised.

I agree with the 2:1:1 robots. I never have nor will I ever train all my players alike. To me it is foolishness that a winger only needs off, shot, tech, and agr. You mean to say wingers don't pass? They don't play defence in their own end? This year they added pass to influence shot outcomes. I have wingers that are closer to being centers because their passing is so high and haven't noticed a difference.
I'll continue to train my players for realism. If it is a detriment to my team whatever... one day I hope the game engine will be tweaked to be even more realistic (off atty for dmen, def for all fwds etc.). Sadly, I think a lot of the top teams, those 2:1:1 robot guys, they'd create such a fuss that it would get shot down.

90% of the game is 2:1:1 robots, myself included. I don't care if they change the engine, as long as we get some warning.
Ya by then all the work I've done will be caught. Haha. Oh well. I take pride my "role players". If they could be extracted from e-space and put on Terra Ferma they'd kick the piss out of all you 2:1:1 hoodlums.
What do you guys think about the fact of paying credits to get a new player?I don't think it's a good thing...
