Juste a note, really earned our place in div I as we not just finished first but scored the most goals and allowed the less. I am exciited already to see our performance next season!
Congrats to the senior team who just beat Finland! In route for a medal!? I am shouting for you!
Thankfully we have a fleet of 19yos turning 20 ready to take up the mantle this year. It'll help us a bit to have more "veterans" on the team
Btw, I'm a her. Not a lot of gals hanging out around here, and the username ain't telling, so I'll forgive you

Sorry, accept my apologies ! Still good luck to you and hope you are going to be our next manager. Thanks for your help for layers selection this year.
A big congratulations to both the Senior and U20 GM's for the big performance at this season's World's! The Canadian contingent continues to slowly shrink in this game and, as always, here is hoping that this trend reverses in such a great, well-designed game! That we can continue to have such solid performances is a testament to the dedication and thinking of those in charge. Sorry to be the weak link in the festivities but sometimes we don't achieve the level of success that we wish to. Best of luck and all the hope for a big win over the Poles tonight and more on Sunday!
Look at me, buying yet another U20 prospect off so he doesn't go to a team with lacking facilities. My fee today was over 500k xD I gotta get rid of some of those guys O_o
Which, btw, if any of you guys have a 19 or 20yo you think should be on the team, I have 4 roster spaces left. I'll be starting to call-up a few more of the 19yos over the next few weeks to build some chemistry for them (and will rotate the other guys to the best of my ability to try and split up the training bonus as evenly as possible).
As for the WCH at the moment, I'd say we're about evenly matched with all the teams in our group except Herzegivona... Bosnia. I can never type that right. Anyways, those guys seem to have a weaker team, but that could be a smokescreen so I'll def not take them easy just 'cuz. We have 8 players who are already over 60 chemistry.
I think our biggest weakness remains the low shooting of our offensive players, although it's a lot better than it was last season. Low tech defense-men comes in 2nd. And, err, well, we don't have very many high shooting Ds, either.
I think we're in a very good position to climb up a division again, given I don't drag my dumb away game bad luck streak with me on this one haha.

Talking about this... I think PPM is a game with a long learning curve. I know I definately ruined some good talents along the way because my facilities sucked, I wasn't aware I had the potential to get good money from them in the market and I wanted to grow some players myself. Or bought some young players from the market to develop, but actually didn't have good enough facilities for it to be really worth doing.
I was just thinking, maybe we should set up some kind of team to monitor good young canadian talents and where they move on the market to make sure our most talented players stay in positions to develop well. If we can't keep them in good environnements, then we could try to reach out to that "new" GM and try to inform him of the potential reward of selling back this player on the market.
This could help flatten slightly the difficulties of learning the game and improve Canada's pool of talent.

Sounds like a great idea. I think(am sure) I busted a couple myself. but as team improves they should join the "watcher" group and keep some money to prevent great talents falling in wrong hands- or as you said at least inform the manager about the situation...
Would you suggest to this manager to instead buy an older, already developed player as it better? As it better serves him since he can fully develop the youngest?

Try telling me 2 Years ago to Sell mich laroucque. no way - esp at that stage of the game i had been thrashed so many times and my hope was a future named mitch. why Sell - rich buyer already could shitkick my team...now Sell him my best guy? over time i have basically come to agree with "Sell the kid" logic but mitch is still my boy and i like that. you cant make everyone play the common sense way. some gms are here for fun...
I know. It's quite possible I would have felt the same.
However, if someone had told me I could get... idk, 50M let's say, for my best player, I would have probably thought long and hard about it. Especially since that 50M could go a long way into improving my facilities (making me better in the long run) or buying impact players now that will have more immediate impact than the one I am currently holding onto.
Also, it could be explained that while it is great to develop young players, keeping a talented youngster without the right facilities makes the player lose value every day you hold on to him.
I don't know for sure if it would convince everyone, but some would probably consider this point of view. Some kind of forum watch might be an interesting way to keep track of our local talent also. We could share the promising players info, where they are, if they are in a good situation to develop. Try to elaborate propositions to managers (for example, we promise that Manager X will bid at least 30M for the player if he puts him on the market)
IDK, just spit balling ideas here.

Well, I have my semi-definitive lineup for the WCH picked out (and a rough outline of next season's as well). Don't be fooled by the fact some of the big guns are not being called up right now. Those guys are upwards of 70 chemistry already, so missing a few games won't hurt them or us too much. I'll use the friendlies to build up some chemistry into next year's starting line-up and the guys that didn't get to play last season. Also if i notice your guy is in training camp, he won't be called up, as the training camp bonus overrides the NT game training bonus, so might as well spread the wealth, if ya know what I mean?
It's too bad my own team's chemistry is not carrying over to the NT, since so many of those guys play together on a regular basis anyway. Lol.

Oh wow, it took me a second reeling back after that 14-0 loss to remember this was against the SENIOR argentina team xD That'll teach me to start looking for friendlies a little late...
Not a bad showing for a mash-up of 19 and 20yos when you take that into consideration.

In case anyone is wondering about this weekend's game... That wasn't even our full official lineup! (2 or 3 guys were on training camps, so I figured I'd give others a chance to get the extra training).
I think we good
