I'm wondering what other people's opinions are on the state of the game and the direction it is heading.
Ain't a rant since I always had the same opinion even since I found out there was a golden ratio.
01. No more of this ratio thing.
02. Complete overhaul of the hockey engine. There is so much possibilities in soccer where you can put players anywhere on the field which I would love in hockey.
03. Since we change/modify the engine, include more attributes.
04. Create a draft system based on overall league strenght.

I love the game the way it is.
But what I hate most in this game is the inequality of the leagues,I already said it before. I really don't like the fact that a team that is releguated from III.2 will be in division 2 before me, who have a playoff spot...

I too dislike the ratio and simplicity of the hockey engine. I haven't played soccer so I don't know.
I'd love a more indepth player system, paired with a different engine of the game would be cool.
It would be great if injuries were also caused in game, you could create a speedy skill team, or a tough hard hitting team.
Player sizes would impact their abilities.
There is so much potential for a hockey sim, and this game is just missing it.
The financial inequality and the fact that the devs don't seem to care really bugs me.

I'd like the tactics broken down from Normal, Defensive, ect into more specific tactics zone to zone. Tactics could be broken down more, for the D and forwards seperately. No comment on the ratio thing because I dont think it really matters if its changed or not.
I'd like to have a power forward screening their goalie on the PP.
I'd like the game to be more than 2:1:1

I think there are many flaws. Many of them to me seem like they could be hell to fix too. But one major one is one a describe as a form of cheating. Ping ponging between leagues every season. To take advantage of the OTR carry over and the promotion money. I think it is cheating and should be looked at. As too me it ruins the fun. And it steals the chance of promoting to a team who actually wants to really give it a go. When a team intentionally throws all games in their higher league to relagate to dominate for a season.. It is such a douche move. It's starting to happen quite a bit too.
Most of the news coming out is aesthetic (goalie masks, pucks, new broadcast look, new arena look, new mascots) rather than substantive.
I've posted several times about potential ways to improve the game substantively, but they fall on deaf ears (eyes?), so I won't waste my time repeating those ideas. Suffice it to say that although I find this game engaging and entertaining, I do think there is substantial room for improvement, which improvement would not require the complete overhaul of the game.

I'm ping ponging, but not on purpose.
I did give up once my goalie went down for 2 weeks after just selling my backup.
As for the suggestions falling on deaf ears/eyes, they definitely are.
It is for reasons like this that once my PROpack expires... I'm gone.

Couple things for me:
1- I would like to randomness added to the engine. All you have to do is look at team strengths and know who is going to win the game. The only counter to that is tactics but that doesnt make enough of a difference. I would like to see the lesser teams beat the top teams once in a while, or at least closer fought. IRL, looking at the Blue Jackets and Oilers, yeah they have pretty bad teams on paper, but they did win several games against top clubs. That type of thing doesnt happen here.
2- A bigger deterrent for using the market. Its too easy for a new player to throw lots of money at the market and win their league, even if they have nothing invested in their facilities or arena. I myself am one of them, but am finding less fun. After one season i am already dreaming and scheming of an all Canadian team. But I think it would be better if we could somehow encourage them to develop sooner and make less use of the market.
Just my $0.02

There are a lot more upsets than you'd think. The problem is that everyone complains when they get upset by a weaker team.
As for the market, I proposed a discount in salary for your own drafted players, but the devs shot that idea down.

Market is ok, I think. It has a real cost associated with over-use in the form of the tax. Also, the home country discount comes into play eventually.
The real problem is with staff.
1) No home country discount
2) Inflated salaries
3) Quality and development are next to irrelevant
4) No market

I'm confused by your points... especially number 4, what do you mean "No Market"?
Staff need to be better explained. A low facility player doesn't need/want high level staff, but the game doesn't explain that.
You only want high OR staff if your facilities are at or near max.

Exactly. Allow me to make my point by way of example. Consider the following:
65 days ago, I purchased Roland Abbrederis for 10k. He is 57 years old. His attributes(qualities) are: 73(55)/73(63); that's capped at 73 by me. He is foreign, but, unlike foreign players who earn a 25% premium, my man makes no such premium, because no similar premium exists for foreign staff members.
This isn't unique: I couldn't sell a 56 yr old doctor with 60/60 attributes with quality to burn. I had a prospect on his way and - close enough, I felt - that I could afford to sell my head doctor. Up for 7 days, starting at 10k. No bites.
High staff OR isn't necessarily good, nor is it very difficult to reach.
Most of the time, staff sits idly; not training. 11 of 19 staff members on my team do not train. "You are good enough," I have told them. "Stop learning."
Staff development is irrelevant and so there is no market for quantity or quality in staff. I can buy sporting directors with 120+ OR for 10k and I can't even sell a doctor with 120OR for 10k.
So what? Staff is hella expensive, but dirt *bleepin* cheap? That's broken.
