I would love there to be a list of games being played from the World of PPM.

Something like...
"Games being played right now: Irish League, English league, etc, etc.."

Ya know, so I can watch the games and pass some time while Im waiting for my own game to start!

Someone could say nobody cares about leagues of other countries but I actually like the idea! It's something a real PPM geek could enjoy!

Well not a list of actual teams playing at the moment - just a list of what leagues are being played at any one time.

Antsa - I'd be keen to watch a couple of games from other leagues for the simple reason that I am a geek, of the PPM variety!

Improve the pro/rel cleanup at the end of the season:

My soccer league only has two feeder leagues, and was about 1/2 full last season. The two promoting teams from D.III were Experience 1 Never-logons. They were promoted. And then other teams were promoted from D.III, which seems to have worked OK.

But the 4 regular promoting teams died and had to be replaced.

So before a team is promoted, make sure that they have a minimum level of experience (5 or 10), so that they have actually shown an interest.

Currently, if a league has fewer than 4 feeder leagues, the relegating teams are adjusted. So if there are 2 feeders, in Soccer, 22nd and 21st relegate, and 20th and 19th have the playoff. 15th through 18th, who ordinarily be in playoffs are retained.

So, simply check how many teams are qualified to promote (1st or 2nd and minimum experience) and adjust the relegation teams to match. So lets say that a league has 4 feeders, but one of the 2nd place teams has insufficient experience. Then 4 teams would relegate, and 3 would play promotion/relegation matches. One team would be automatically retained.

The 2nd part would extend the new cleanup scheme to all divisions.

(0) Do regular pro/rel. If there are any new national leagues being created, move the teams to their new league and replace them with Nonames back in Other World or the continental leagues.

The following is done iteratively a pair of divisions at a time, beginning with the top 2.

(1) For each league in upper division, check for dead or nonames. Based on the previous season standings, see if there are relegated teams that are still alive. Promote them back to their previous league. Effectively, too many teams were relegated given that there are some dead teams that could be relegated instead.

(2) Count the number of dead and nonames in the upper division. Count the number of eligible teams for a cleanup promotion (live and sufficient experience). The number of cleanup promotions is the smaller of these two numbers.

(3) Determine which teams in the lower division are promoted based on their OTR. Sort these by the upper division league they ordinarily would feed into.

(4) For each league in upper division, check for dead and nonames. If there are any, then promote any teams from any feeders that are on the promotion list. (though the teams are determined across the entire division, we want to maintain feeder patterns if possible).

(5) Promote all the remaining teams on the promotion list. I don't know if there is a systematic way to do this. Perhaps there could be some OTR balancing. With the highest ranked teams being placed into the weakest leagues in the upper division.

(6) Repeat for the next pair of divisions.

I'd like to suggest a 2nd hockey game, so to speak. Basically a whole new start that runs alongside of the current league. If worried about people just abandoning the 1st game for the new one it can be protected simply by requiring each 2nd game manager to maintain a 1st game team. If the 1st game team goes inactive so does the 2nd.

If done correctly it could prove to be profitable (by requiring separate propack but that can be at discount or whatever..) as well as fun and endearing to the players.

I know something like it has been talked about since near the beginning but this is a different approach and I hope (doubt..) is considered.

There is another game online that is a racing game - this game has "seasons' and you sign up with your team for that season and it goes quickly. You could do PPM challenges or whatnot where you run 10 seasons super quickly etc. say a weeks worth per day. This will make it fun to be on and play instead of generating only 5-10 clicks a day you'll be generating 100's per user.

How about getting rid of the sports acadamy from the facilties and giving teams at the bottom of a league better players than those at the top on average.

Ie sort of like a draft but without the overhead.

oh that's a fantastic idea!! It would also help solve the issue of teams intentionally not promoting since it would hurt to constantly stay atop the league..

But it doesn't make any sense....

Top teams would attract top talents.

Nor do we want to flatten the competition through such an artificial means.

I want varied levels of competition, I want to feel like advancing to the next higher league is an accomplishment. I just think it should require more expenses. For instance you are required to build facilities and pitch for the upper levels. Maintenance fees should be much higher for the bigger stadiums. Players and coaches should demand higher salaries at higher levels.

Basically, there needs to be an economy that scales with the play level.

This is a Euro game. They don't have drafts. They have youth academies and reserve teams. All players are signed for cash rarely traded and youth are signed not drafted.
