Hello,
First off, I am totally new to the game. I play basketsim, so I am not new to sim games.
My question is where do I start? What should I do first? Is there a newbie guide? If so could you let me know where. Thanks, the game looks awesome, but I don't want to spend any money until I know what I am doing.

Yes, there is a guide. Go to the hockey/soccer homepage, then click information on the left side, and then guide.
In you first season don't spend to much on yours player build your facilities. mainly Training, Regen, HR, Academy and Ed center.
Has anyone tried to train players strictly according to Q? I've looked at this for soccer and it looks like it puts up decent numbers but that may be because in soccer players play so many different positions on the field so varied players is reasonable.
I'm wondering if moving away from cookie cutter straight ratio players is a better bet? I'm sure it would not be better financially because people look for players in ratio, but would the players perform better?

By training to Q I mean choose the highest Q for Goa, Off, and Def then whatever attribute has the highest Q, train everything based on that so if I have a DEF at 100 attribute points and his OffQ is 65 train that to 65, if his ShotQis 83 get that to 83, and so on. Obviously not training Goa for non-goalies and not training Off and Def for goalies. This would mean that it would be possible to train and offensive defenseman or a 2 way forward. Builds that are completely ignored using ratios.
Thoughts?
Thoughts?
It would mean that every team has it's special kind of play, and tactic, but it isn't so.
It is interesting thought, but I think it's to simple.

Meaning the match engine is too simple to support different types of players? I'm confused about what you think is too simple?
It's simple to put it like that - every quality should be trained as it is written. Devs would prefer something more mysterious IMO to give the game more time to be interesting, unsolved, whatever.
And because of it's "simplicity", we could find it as too easy or too obvious way to set training or players, and it could harm game in that way.
It's just my opinion. On the other hand it would be more complicated for system to do calculations like that than plain 2-1-1.

It just seems that the favored 2:1:1 means everyone looks the same and I would hope that the ME isn't so simple that a 2:1:1 build is all that is needed to be successful.
It would be more interesting if line composition meant something more. Hopefully with the proposed changes for line strategies, the simple 2:1:1 builds (which are boring) will go by the wayside and people might actually have to think about how to train a player and how to put lines together.

Well you are right, it would be better if engine is more complex than it it is. It would be better if you could decide a match by making defensive line, attacking line, to adjust their time in game, to adjust your play to your opponent, or to get the best from your team by making these lines.
People are talking that in later stages of the game, when attributes will go to 400 or 500, it would be of some significance if your winger has good passing or defensive skill. It would be interesting to see that, but many people don't have patience to wait that moment (if it exist at all) and who knows what changes will be made in next season, will they be sufficient.

You have arrived right at the end of the season, so you will want to schedule a bunch of friendlies, so you get a feel for how matches work.
You don't have to schedule friendlies, but if you don't for these two weeks you won't want to play matches.
You will then want to set up your lines. In PPM, the 3 forwards and 2 defensemen are treated as a single unit. I'd figure out who your best centers are, best wings, and best defensemen are, and put them on your first line and so on. Some players play better from the left or right side, so be sure to take account of that. It doesn't matter for centers and GK.
You also need to set up your power play and penalty killing lines. If you are lazy or in a hurry you can simply click to copy the lines. Include a few subs in case of injuries.
You can also set tactics for matches. New teams get a trial of Pro-Pack so that they can also watch their matches played.
If you can get this figured out we can begin on training.

Hey does anybody have info on the % increase in fan support from adding the first layers of car park and other accessories to the stadium?
Tried to find the Suggestions: I think that we should get more money depending on the game, (i.e. playoff, league game, rival, friendly). I think this could be a big sell for upgrading to better stadiums for the smaller leagues
