PPM should really think of pro/rel as a way to flush abandoned teams out. So:
(1) End of season, deduct all points from abandoned teams, before setting up playoffs.
(2) Do promotion and relegation, just like now.
(3) Then go through leagues a division at time, a league at a time raking abandoned teams down.
If a team is abandoned, promote an active team from one of its feeders using the following ranking:
(a) Teams that lost a relegation playoff and were relegated, based on regular season rank.
(b) Teams that lost promotion playoff based on rating.
(c) Teams that were directly relegated based on regular season rank.
(d) Other teams based on rating and/or position.
(4) If there are still abandoned teams in a division, promote teams from non-feeder leagues based on rating and/or position.
So no team promotes more than one division per season, and promotion is still based on merit, but upper divisions will be active.

this is a good idea. suggestion thread put you should
I recently bid on a wing that has decent offensive stats around 200 with an appropriate 2:1:1 ratio in his other stats. Though when I bid on him I didn't notice that his shooting is 22, with 10 quality. Is he worth running on a 1st or 2nd line? or should I put him back on the market when his 51 days on the team past?
Only if his passing has good qualities and could be trained to come close quickly with tech. Devs told us that passing for winger can be as effective as shooting (watching whole line not one player) if that winger has very low shooting, but high pass.
Its low, 18 with 50 quality. Is there a post somewhere breaking down how the traits interact for each position outside of the typical center needs passing technique, wing needs technique aggression, etc...
No there is not. And this only applies for wingers with no shooting but high passing. Better to drop that player that you are bidding on.
Why do the #1 and #2 teams face each other in the playoff semis rather than the finals? Makes no sense to me.
That's weird, because if you look at season 10 playoffs for my league (III.2) it clearly shows that #1 and #2 were put on the same side of the bracket. But it doesn't look like that happened for any other leagues. Glitch maybe?
That's good to know that's not the normal alignment.

Actually, disregard all of that. Now I see that its a re-seed format in each round, so the structure of how the bracket is illustrated is retroactive based on the results/upsets. Got it.
Does the regular season prize money come now seeing as how we're finished with that? Or does all prize money come at the end of the playoffs? Thanks!
So I've noticed... teams seem to go one extreme or the other with friendly games. Either they play one every single day, or they NEVER schedule one. What are the pluses/minuses of each strategy? Is it just laziness in scheduling friendlies, or is there a valid reason behind it?
