Player Acquisition:
Today the Bridgeport Sound Tigers signed free agent winger Andrey Tkachuk . Tkachuck had played 19 games so far this season scoring 2 Goals and notching 3 Assists for his former team [hockey_team=75450]. The Russian born forward is 31 years of age adding yet more experience to a young roster. The newest addition will wear number 70 when he makes his debut on Wednesday against BOF Devils

Im adding some more pieces before the playoffs because I see a lot of other teams arming up. BOF Devils and Raging Bulls and Quad City have all made additions and I just want to be sure my Team is prepared. Id also like to say that all of my key acquisitions have been made on a shoestring budget. I signed league leading scorer Jonas Silberbauer for 20,000$ and league 3rd leading scorer Theo Horvat for 10,000$. Compare these pick ups to other teams recent acqusitions of players of 2+ million dollars and you can see that my signings even my recent ones are bang for your buck signings to add depth for the playoffs
Yes I know I dropped 2 mill recently. I feel it was worth it considering the high level of defense, passing, and agr of my 2 new defensive men. They might be a bit to aggressive. But we'll find out tomorrow.
I know I dropped 2 mil on him. But his salary was only 13k a day. And for a player with 1200 overall I thought that was a steal. Pluse I'll make that back in a few home games since I'm making half a million per home game I play.
The top 2 teams in the league faced off today. One was looking to pull within 1 game of the other and another was looking to solidify their number 1 seed. This hard fought goalie battle came down to the last second but the Quad City Mallards have pulled off the victory guaranteeing them the regular season championship and #1 seed in the playoffs. With 3 games left in the season and the Greens down 3 games and a losing record in head to head their is no way to catch the Mallards as they win their first ever regular season championship in their inaugural season. We caught up to the flocks GM after the game. "This has been an exciting first regular season for us. To come into the league in our first season and win in a tough league such as this is unbelievable and I cannot wait for the playoffs." The sold out crowd of 1050 were heard in the streets after the game quacking with excitement over the feat. To say this town is ready for the playoffs is an understatement. Playoff hockey has come to the Quad Cities and even if it doesn't bring a championship, this team has found a solid fan base for the years to come.
Seems like there is an arms race going on in terms of acquiring more and more players before the playoffs
Good game Quad City! That one goal really ticks me off, but at least I was a close second!
Yes there is and I don't like it. I made someone pay 8 mil and another pay 5 mil for players I wantef
The Raging Bulls showed the league today how scary they can be. There are no words to describe how lopsided this game was. The best way to put it is one team actually showed up for the game tonight. The game ended in a 21-1 Bulls win over Colorado. The bulls only allowed 7 shots the entire game while having 64 of their own. The Bulls scored 6 in the first period, 6 in the second period, and 9 in the third period after a change of goalies to end up with 21 goals. Colorado never once controlled the puck in their offensive zone for 20% of a period. They slowly digressed from 17% in the first, 16% in the second and 14% in the third.
The MVP of the game was no doubt, František Sušánka. Sušánka. Who scored 7 goals on 13 shots. As well as contributing with 5 assists. Sušánka scored his first goal 3 minutes into the game. He finished his first hat trick 13:31 into the first period. His second hat trick came 6 minutes and 5 seconds into the 3rd period of an assist from Chad Carr. Sušánka would go on to score another goal 4 minutes later to end up with a seven goal night.
At the press conference the GM was asked what made his team dominate the way they did. This is what he had to say, "Our boys followed the principal I've been beating into their heads every second of every day. That is that defense wins championship. The other team only had 7 shots and when Sušánka scored the way he did tonight. There was no way they won. I was very proud of the way Miodrag and Jakub solidified the defense for tonight. The only thing i saw was wrong with their play was a bad miscommunication that left Félix all by himself to defend against two guys. He can normally stop that, but that doesn't mean he will stop it every time. Its a chemistry issue and that will get fixed with the more games they play together. Otherwise our boys are ready to take a championship this year."
With the Bulls showing off their iron wall defense and massive scoring ability. Whats it going to take to keep František Sušánka, who is emerging as one of the best players and scores in the league, at bay? As well as finding a way to break through a tough defense? Stay tuned for more coverage of the Bulls as the post season begins to kick off.

Nice Tyler. In soccer I'm trying to pick up a Portugal defender that is on the u17 team but hes gonna out of my budget for him. but i drove the bidding over 5 mil and i think its over 15 mil now.
oh yea. Non of us four get to loose until we face one another. shouldn't be a problem though.
If the season ended today and there were no first round upsets by inactive teams then the semi finals would be 2 Greens vs 3 Sound Tigers and 1 Quad City vs 4 Raging Bulls
