Dear friends,
Since I am currently the only one running for U19 manager I'm going to start putting together a spreadsheet of qualifying players for next season. Of course if someone else decides to stand and is elected I will hand the information over to them, I'm certainly not presuming the outcome of the elections!
Anyway, please send me Attributes and Qualities for any players you have who are currently aged 17 or 18 and you think might be good enough. I'm not going to set minimum ORs, I'm more interested in player build and potential. So feel free to put anyone forward for inclusion.
Thanks in advance, and if you know anyone who isn't on the forum much please pass this message on! There's no way I can scout all the possible contenders before the start of next season, so I need managers to get involved and get in touch.
All the best,
Jim (Apollinaire)

I just came across the above post.
I really feel that I need to point out something. You highlighted that you are more interested in builds and potential over player rating(s). I don't know if this was some sort of slight against me after my NT post. Are you trying to suggest that I wouldn't be interested in builds or potential? I just want to check. . .
But it's my opinion that I would leave player builds and potential to the club manager. Your position in scouting would be to find the best players per position, period. - But. if you come across some players by some means that look 'interesting' then fair enough - make a note.
And so, by definition the best players would be the ones most likely to be the highest rated - and most likely have the highest qualities (to achieve those ratings) and may I point out, quite possibly the best 'built' (but not always the case).
I really feel that I shouldn't have to point out the obvious but player builds can always be adjusted but if your looking to bring in players to the NT with 'potential' Then they will be nothing more than mediocre. Building for tomorrow is all very well but the players that you select have to be able to win games. The excuse of, 'I'm building up player experience and chemistry' for that big day when they might actually win an NT game is all Yada, Yada, Yada. - Pick the best, go with it and strategize with them in mind.
At the end of the day - You stand or fall by your results.
Ok, Regards,
Nigel

Hi Nige,
To be clear, absolutely nothing in my post was aimed at you, and none of it was at all intended to be a slight or otherwise a comment on your approach. Sorry if you understood it in that way, that was definitely not my intention.
I guess there are two points I'm trying to make here:
(1) 25 players is a pretty big roster when you can only call up 17/18-year-olds. So I am willing to take a few chances on 'interesting' players, and players with good Qs in a good training facility who might be challenging for a top-12 place later in the season.
(2) I want managers to contact me and put forward players who they think might make the squad, even if its a long shot. I don't want managers to be thinking 'well this guy won't ever make the cut because his OR isn't high enough' because the way the player is built might still fill a need in the squad or suit a particular style of play. Basically, I will be happiest if my inbox is full of hundreds of potential players. Unfortunately I've received absolutely zero messages from managers to date, so I'm stuck with scouting as many as I can before the season starts and hope I find the best available.
But rest assured if I win the election, we will be going into the first WC qualifier with the best possible 12 players and will be playing to win.
Jim.

OK folks, I really need some managers to put their player details forward if I'm going to build a decent U19 database before next season starts. Thanks to those who've been in touch, for everyone else please send details of any currently 17/18yo players who might be eligible, doesn't matter if you think it's a long shot, please get in touch! There's a promising squad coming together but I want to find the best of the best!
Hello
Thank you all for support during the U19 elections. Bit surprised i'm elected, no speech, no activity, unknown player and yet elected, risky choice i would say. But lets not waste our time and go straight to business.
First hour impressions about UK U19:
1 How good U19 players are:
They are shitty...
2 Any new good player into U19:
No, there is no better players to invite
3 Can we qualify to next stage in our group:
No, unless it would be possible with 1 win.
4 Any plan for U19:
No, no plan at all. Select best players and see what happens.
5 Any good thing about UK U19:
No not from me...
So with things looking bad (really bad) i would like to ask everyone (if anyone read this):
IF YOU HAVE ANY GOOD 19 Y.O. PLAYER WITH 600 OR OVER DROP A LINK IN HERE OR PM. PROBABLY INSTANT CALL INTO U19. ITS ONLY COPY PASTE GUYS. Check your players, check your transfers what you sold, look into league news is anyone sell any good UK player, drop an eye on market if you see someone selling good UK player shout, drop a link or a name or team name...... .....or do nothing i'm not pushing your choice...
Eventualy i'll do it myself and check everything what possible but any help would be appreciated.
I'm here only for this season so i'm not really interested in any 17/18 y.o. especially when after quick check of many teams i don't see the light for UK U19 any time soon.
Also any help a tip or secret about NT team would be welcome, have no idea where i got myself into and reading manuals in this game is waste of time...
Thank you

Congratulations! Ill try to help best I can. If there are no more 19s I'd pick the best 18s. Ask previous u17 manager to tell you the best.
Bit of a weird one that, good win though Jonas and congrats on winning the election. Good luck! U19s is a tough group to manage
So 1st game tommorow against Brazil. We will lose, by my prediction around 20 points (at best). All positions in their team looks good, there is no way around.
not looking backwards we charge to the front to meet next opponent - Bosnia and Herzegovina... jes thats a long name, cant even see did i made any mistake spelling it. Well speaking about mistakes and fails this game i guess will be an epic fail in my short carrer as U-19 coach. Did anyone has a hopes to win? Then forget them, better come and witness an epic fail tommorow live at 19.30 UK time. Players ready tactics set and how good we'll see tomorrow. Good luck to UK NT and U-17

why did you play a zone offence against brazil? he's used man to man in every game so far...?
another beast in a field- Portugal U19... and a poodle dog UK U19 against them. Another loss in a sights but not worried at all. So many big players in Portugals NT, what are they feeding them?
