I.1 welcomes our new recruits, the Razorback Thugs, Frozen Pond, Flying Bartlebys and Anchorage Alaskans. We also sadly say goodbye to the best77, Iowa Wild, Capitol Hill and Jackson Jaguars...though I think 3 of those are inactive and one is banned at this point so it's not a huge loss.

the middle two matchups will probably come down to tactics and energy...good luck to everyone involved.

So if they hadn't gone on sale "at the same time" you would have bid on them? but because they were "at the same time" over a 7 day period you suddenly can't?

The clusters of multiple teams all at the same time, tons of players. I can understand 5-10 even 20-30, but the sheer number is just thoughtless.

Read the logic before you're so quick to poke holes.

I am reading the logic, but I don't understand your logic, they were on the market for 7 days, so it's not like there wasn't time IF you wanted to bid on the players to do so, correct? Or is it that there were so many players to sort through?

What "free" market would allow such flooding and devaluation of a commodity? Even the most "free market" economy has rules and regulations to protect the health of the economy. I can't continue this, because it's silly. I'm hoping this will be my last comment on this. I fear it won't.... I really need to have better control.

Thanks. I hope it will be as much fun as I think it will, because it sure won't be good for my OTR. I don't think my odds of staying up are very good, but then again I didn't think I had much chance to promote this season in the first place.

I told Joppy (manager of West Co. Warriors) that I thought our series would be close but that his home ice advantage would see him through. The road team won every game in the series. Go figure.

I again fail to see how this will "destroy" the economy. you guys are valuing these players on speculation that they will be worth "20 million dollars" yet there is no way to quantify a players worth until the hit the auction block. They may end up going for 20 million, but that falls back yet again to us the market for choosing to make that purchase.

Basic economics at work. Demand is the same, but a glut of goods all at once drives the price down until the glut is gone. Just think of oil and gas prices in the late 80's early 90's. I filled up my car at about 60 cents a gallon when there was a glut, when even then, no one ever thought it would drop back below $1.

For instance, say 10 people are looking for a player, and there are 3 like him. Those 10 would bid on 3, or about 3 bidders per player, and start at a price set by the owner, which was probably not 10,000.

With 10 players and 10 bidders, no one has to bid more than once on a player, getting him at the set minimum price of 10,000, since that's how they showed up on the market.

taloncarde, opivy and jdevils are right. you can't devalue the market like this. in some countries this is illegal.

I don't think that it will destroy the economy,I just think that the implementation of the sale was poorly done. Most of the bidding on players occurs in the final few minutes, but there was no opportunity for the bidding in the final two minutes on most players as you just can't keep track of that many at once.

Whether or not it affects the market doesn't matter to me, I have a financial plan and my sales are just extra money that I can roll in, meanwhile I feel bad for people who use the market etc as income sources because they were just hosed pretty hard.

Or if they picked up 70+ AQ, 250 OR guys for 10,000, they will make a killing next season selling them for 1,000,000s.

And like you just said people who were selling had all thier players devalued, while those that purchased have a ton of players undervalued that they can sell for huge profit once the market stabilizes. That gives them an unfair advantage.

Right now with playoff placement money I want to get in on the market. But, because the market is so flawed atm, I'm not sure I want to dip in. I'm still seeing high OT players selling for nickels and dimes. Those same players would have been sold for much more a week ago.

And even if they chose to rollback all the + players, the market has been destroyed over the last 24+ hours already so there is no way to contain the damage. At this point the devs are just going to let the economy work itself out.

Our only hope is that they will revisit the handling of fire sales before the next round.

It won't matter next season... guys around 250 OR will be practically worthless, so this is really a one season phenomenon. Think of it as if a PPM plane just dropped millions of dollars out of the sky, never to return.
