well, we're 1/3 of the way through the season. Any surprises?

#20 Jacksonville Jaguars
big wins - none, though they did tie the Americans and Swamp Foxes early on
big transfers - sold off most of entire team (currently #2 or so on PPM money list)

the Jags have dropped from about a 34 at the beginning of the season to about a 27 now after they quit and sold off most of their players. I had them pegged at about the 8-12 range this year and they won't make that now. Most disappointing is that they have the CWC berth and for the 2nd year in a row it's going to an inactive team...

the best77 is up 2 points this season to 32 OR. I had them pegged around 16-20 and they so far are about on pace, though they have shown some stretches where they've played really well.

#18 - Iowa Wild

The Wild are skippered by the new captain of the USA support team nsblues. They're also one of the top improving teams so far this year with a +3 OR leaving them at 31. Still have some ground to make up, though...

#17 - Manville CONDORS
big wins - none

The CONDORS are a +4 on the year (the best in our league) and currently sit at 36 which would put them in the 12-16 range. They're underperformed a bit so far but have played a pretty tough schedule so they might move up.

#16 Capitol Hill
big wins - Psychos, tied the RED WINGS

Staya seems to have gone mostly inactive with only 1 login in the past month. He barely avoided losing his team back on the 30th and it's not looking too good for him long-term. I had thought the Capitol Hill gang were good for a 6-10 spot and had a good shot at the playoffs this year but that's about dead now.

#15 RED WINGS

big transfers - nothing huge

The RED WINGS are a surprising entry at #15 but when you look closer you see that they've been running camps almost continuously all year and haven't really had their full complement of guys for most games. They've also been VERY active on the markets - loading up on low to mid level skaters and staffers presumably to try to make some money on them. Long term when the camps are over and some of the investments start paying off look for the Wings to rise up again.
