give us more game statistics, those we have now don't count for anything, if we lose, so be it, we can't find out why
simply telling your goalie has a day-off is too easy, i did the same myself, but getting more and more frustrated about not being able to find any reasons for a loss
if you can't improve yourself learning from mistakes, then you can't call this a good manager game.
it's a very good manager, but far from perfect, we need to be able to learn from mistakes in matches
random, sure, but that's all too easy as well.

I would love to see face off percentages for each of the centres and would love to see a note of all the line changes in the telecast so i know who is on the ice.
What statistics would you like to have included?
I would love to see both of those bits of information. Then again regarding faceoffs Vlady just recently commented:

Currently the Technique attribute has a very small influence on the outcome of the faceoff. The reason for that is to avoid a team with strong tech winning 50 out of 60 faceoffs which doesnt happen in real hockey. However, we admit that this influence is too small as it is right now and this is planned to be adjusted in the future along with some other improvements of the game engine.

I still would like to know both of the things you requested.

more statistics would be nice, but it might make it more difficult for beginners to analyse the game .... too much data ... but it would be good as a Pro feature I think.
One thing I would like to see is statistics on friendly games.

I just thought of antoher. It would be nice if in the team analyses I could see past results of my team against that team. Now we only see the last 5 games the opponent has played against any team. Would be a 'nice to have'.

I was told that the following might be better suited to this thread than the Q&A:

I've just had the sort of idea that gives game developers nightmares: would anyone else like to see the tactics be line specific instead of match specific? It would add a very layered approach to strategy and player/line development.

I would love that. I think it would be nice to have offensive and defensive style lines. Add to that "matchups" where the home team can match line by line. I think that'd be a lot of work.

Well in a way you can already set up you lines as more offensive or defensive using the attributes of your players. But i guess it would be interesting to have the same approach that is used with hockey arena. Like storming the net or blue line shooters and so on...

Line matching is a nice idea too. Though, what I was getting at is, if you build a strong line defensively, being able to set its tactic to defensive might be nice, without limiting your kick-ass offensive line to being defensive as well.
It might be nice to be able to change your tactic if various conditions are met during the match (like you're up 2 goals going into the third and want to switch tactics to breaking, or defense).

Role lines might be a nice option too (line combinations that only got used if conditions were met--like a shut down line, or an energy line,). Obviously, some of these features might be a good PRO pack addition...

What I'd like to be able to do is designate lines as "scoring1" or "checking1" rather than the meaningless "line1", "line2", etc. Then the coach would attempt to match "checking1" against the opponent's "scoring1".
At this point, the tactical question would be which of the 4 lines you set will play at any point during the game. If you're behind, drop a checking line and roll the scorers more often. If you're ahead, drop the weakest scoring line or add an extra checking line into the rotation. These are the type of pre-game tactical questions I think we should be answering rather than when to simply drop the fourth line.
I think the current tactics system is rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock. I'd like to cut that out of the equation altogether in lieu of real tactical questions like how many scoring vs checking lines you want to play at any point of the game.
Also, if possible, I think a little AI discretion would be nice. If my goalie lets in 3 soft goals in the first, I'd like him swapped out on the coach's initiative rather than a pre-set option to change him after the period is over. Same goes if one of my lines is -3 in the first 10 minutes of the game or a player collects several consecutive minor penalties... they deserve a benching.

about stats only for PRO pack, no thanks, everybody should have those...
as a newcomer who doesn't know anything about hockey, he or she might just not even wonder what those matchstatistics are
more matchstats are a must

Why? Pro members financially keep this game in existence... they need to get something for that, and Stats are a GREAT way to reward those who help the game succeed.
That may seem harsh, but it's the way it needs to be.

statistics (overview) of all those stats perhaps (as PRO feature)
but not the matchstats themselves (like faceoffs, shots, whatever we have now), that could give benefit in having PRO

I see no problem with Pro people having that benefit. We pay for this game to be here, so a little extra benefit wont be causing me to lose any sleep. LOL
The fact is, if Pro members only got things that were not overly important, then there would be no reason to upgrade. It's the small "benefits" like these stats that can make a person decide to upgrade.

Heck, i think all the pro features should be available for all, but that would bankrupt the game.
that's not what I mean at all, just things to analyze a match should be in place for all. (overview on seasonal base could be (should) be pro)
pro features right now are nice too, though there could be more and better for sure
