Hello, i'm a new manager and i'm wondering basically what the easiest way to make money in both short term (asap) and long term planning.
I should be focusing on increasing revenue so that eventually i can buy players i want right? Will getting a good team lead to more money, or do i need to make stadium upgrades and whatnot?

first, welcome to PPM! great to have you with us.
now, the answer to your question is "Yes." (lol)
there are different ways to do generate revenue. selling players to generate revenue is one of them, which you do by developing those players, which takes facilities...and...well...you get the idea. you also need to build your arena to generate ticket revenue and such.
tell you what, i'm in charge of the US mentor program, I'll have someone contact you and see what we can do to get you going.

You need to build up your stadium adding seating that will give you access to the better amenities. And you need to build up your facilities to ensure that you can pull and train youth and build a better HR system so that you get more revenue from sponsorship offers.
And you need to get your OTR up by tying and winning games. You can do that in friendlies too, just watch your energy so your players perform.
Early on if you have any high AvgQ players you may want to sell them for the revenue to improve other aspects of your team because you will not be able to train them to their potential until facilities get up.
Avoid the market like the plague for your first season at least to ensure that you learn the value of the players and you have a chance to build up your facilities.

I don't think that avoiding the market in your first season is too sound of advice at all. It's more of a question of how much you're spending, and on what...
Im in agreement with twilight. You almost have to utilize the free agent market. There are a lot of deals out there. I wouldnt be where I am out today without utilizing it in my first year.
You also have the advantage of being in the lowest league. I would say upgrade your Sports Academy the most first at the same time as upgrading your training facilities. Sports academy is more important due to youll get better players which you can keep or sell.
Good Luck

The problem is people diving in at day 10 and blowing money on players that won't even last a season.
Once you have a firmer grip on things then go ahead and hit the market, ideally for a goalie to anchor your team. Then build from the net out.

It's about using ALL of your available resources, I think...and not being too fixated on either the market or your SA to fix your roster immediately.
You can really forget about making cash the 1st few seasons period. Build up your Resource center, sports academy and traing fac. These 3 are by far your most important imho. You will start maiking decent money once you establish your team as main stay. it take about 3 seasons before you will become decent. that is just the way it is. but get those 3 too 10 asap, for now ignore stadium, in order to make good cash there you need to have ALOT. And that is why you focus on the 3 things i pointed out. I also agree, use the market, but be wise look at 3 main stats, do not buy 1 stat wonders, they take forever to get back in shape. do not buy any player under 50% AQ.
Sell a bunch of players that won't stick around good q's but 5/6 and 4/6, they'll never make it for you and the moneys better spent on resources. Build your SA up quickly so you get larger pulls and start building your youth up - if you focus on it you'll be in div III for 2 seasons but you'll rise up quickly, look around at the guys who are giving you adivce, they're relatively new but they've all buckled down and done it right. The best time for the market is mid season, the goobers will be broke and everyone else will not be buying the lower / mid level talent, get people with 6/6 and good q's for their position and just build them slowly, focus on your future not your current lineup and dont ever be afraid to let go of players that are holding you back.
