Not necessarily. Take level 10 HR. If your scouts have 80% efficiency you'll scout as if you had level 12 HR and no staff. So all you can assume is that if you have level 10 TF and 80% coaching, you're no farther ahead than someone with level 12 TF and no coaches.
Thanks. Is there a way to figure out what I would train at if I had no coaches? or not really becasue there is always a slight change in training from day to day practice.
Set your coaches to "unassigned". You'll see what it would be - problem being you'll miss out on actual training even just for a day. Depends if 0.5 OR times X players is worth it

no, I don't think it is. was seeing that I have spent 68 million on staff, mostly coaches to train my young players... wondering if it's worth it or not...
Your staff is a bit heavy, but it doesn't look too bad. If you're looking to trim salaries, here's what I would do: Get rid of your 2 lecturers, your head custodian, and your head physician. And maybe downgrade your assistant coach and one of your physio's.
A general rule of thumb for staff is
Levels 1-5) no staff
Levels 6-10) one staff no higher that 100 OR
Levels 11-15) two staff over 100 OR

Thanks. I will take a look at that. I don't want my guys to train less because I tried going young and building them up. But the rest of the staff dont change those stats.
One thing to note: when you get to maxed out arena/facilities, that head custodian can save you oodles of cash.
But in general, I agree with themightyoil's breakdown of levels/staff.

Yes I was thinking the exact same thing. But in general his statement is a good rule of thumb (I like where that saying came from by the way).
Where did "rule of thumb" come from? I've head several stories, the most common is that a man wasn't allowed to hit a woman with anything thicker than his thumb. Pretty sure that one is false though. The other one I heard was about brewing beer and measuring temperature with your thumb.
Can anyone explain how this game was even close? My line strengths are more than triple his. Not to mention the shot differential.

They happen. His goalie >>>>> Your goalie, even if it was for today only. Goalies have games where they play beyond/below their abilities. At least you won

True, I was just hoping for a regulation win. I was watching the game and I was like WTF?!
He's played every game on very high, so his goalie must be way below 70 energy. I don't know how he still played that well.

Just like this game, I have no clue how I lost.. I am better in almost every way and out tacticed him...

A few notes on that game:
1) Your team is not really all that much stronger than his.
2) He played higher importance AND has the home ice advantage (approx 20% boost allegedly).
3) While you did play the better tactic, PPM had reduced the effectiveness of tactics and the Break > Normal strategy has all but become irrelevant in my experience. You'd have been better playing an all out offense tactic IMO.
When you take these things into account, the teams become relatively even and it was simply a case of his special teams were better than yours on the day.
