dont forgret the teammates. if i loose the puck at this 1 of 10 times one of my teammates who is also much better than the defender can take it and shot for me, so the result can be 10 of 10. this situations happens realy often between weak and strong team a much better player makes faults too, but because the better team is better the other linemates take the puck and the "powerplay" goes on. during this "powerplay" the weaker players get tired and more tired because they cant change lines and the result is often a goal . I dont want to say that the stronger team makes no faults and every shot is a goal, but the pressure is so big that the weaker team cant hope to loose 0:5 if they are lucky than 1:15. Thats no exaggeration, hockey is a fast game. How fast it can be you realize when you play against better players and hopes after 5 minutes that this game will not end 20:0.
some days ago there was a discussion in the bug forum about the simulation of 500 games. The much weaker team has won 29 matches. this team is in EVERY PART of the game MUCH WEAKER. In reality this difference wouldnt give this team a chance to win 29 times. This shows how far the engine is away from the reality.

Well, as I said then, I disagree that 29 is "too much"
I'm not saying the engine is perfect, but I don't know one like this that's better, I think the "chance" leads to fun, hopefully you keep playing and enjoying because it will only get better.

Are you saying in the NHL a team like Edmonton wouldn't win 29 games out of 500 against a team like Vancouver or Detroit? Hell... Toronto has 29 wins in 67 games and look how bad they are! I love that the best team doesn't always win anymore. It's the way it should be. Shitty teams beat good teams all the time. Fact. The question is how often. And, if anything, 29/500 is way too low by my standards and I've already lost many-a-game to much weaker teams this season (in friendlies).
I think he's referrting to a bigger gap, say Vancouver vs the Texas Tornados.
But my point from the last time this argument came up is simple, if I'm the team with 29 in 500 odds of winning, I would hate hearing people argue that is too much. The other people who play are also customers, so saying they should "never" win or 1 in 500 is in my opinion not fair.
Low odds are fine, but saying upsets happen "too much" still bothers me.

We're talking about 6% odds here. An AHL team would beat an NHL team 6% of the time easy. Heck, NHL teams have lost to European teams.
European team are not so far from American teams!
True. But not as close as many think. The good teams are. The lower-standings teams not so much. I've played with guys in the NHL just before they went there... as I have with guys who play in the top leagues in Europe. There is a huge difference in ability between those players. But we are sidetracking ourselves now.
I agree, but i don't want to re-hash this again

ust suffice to say you and I believe 6% is fine (And keep in mind that 6% was specifically for one game only they are referring to)
But there is a contingent who believes that is too "random" and so this debate will continue on and on.
Fact is, some people think it's too much, others think it's fine, the engine is always under development and improving, so let's not drag this out another week.

Is it always the good teams complaining? They've always been the good teams and can't handle losing. Closer games make everything more enjoyable. I hate going into a game knowing I'm going to get crushed. Now at least I know I have a shot every night.
don't underestimate European teams
especially Russian teams, I'm sure that some of them would be able to compete in the NHL...and there are also great teams in many other European leagues; fin, swe, nor, ger, aus etc.

the engine will never be perfect, i understand it. i dont want to say that this engine is bad, it just could be better. At the moment is a comparison with the reality inappropriate.
I should have known this would arise some controversy. I'm not belittling them at all. Merely saying that while the best of Europe can compete in the NHL. The teams that make up the lower ranks of the top divisions wouldn't compare. All I'm stating. But hockey is a marvelous sport. How else do much weaker teams have close games with powerhouses at the international level?
In this statement, I do agree with you 100 percent. But I still love playing and dedicating way to much time to the game and that's what it's supposed to inspire

You haven't arised controversy, I just wanted to express myself
I understand what you are trying to say and agree with the most of the things
At least you have good judges in NHL, not some really bad ones as we in EBEL league
