Winner automatically promotes. Loser in the final will play a team from the above leave in the promotion/relegation round, the winner will play in the higher league the loser in the lower league.
Awesome. In looking at the div III teams I am a long ways from being competitive at that level. Another season in div IV should allow me the time needed to upgrade both my roster, arena and facilities.

Just be sure to player your best players in all rounds. If you play a weaker team to ensure you lose your sponsor offer will be impacted. If you don't want to win, play your best guys but on VL and bad tactics.
Will do. Honestly I am not sure what the best tactics really are but I seem to be figuring it out.
My team seems to be strong at offence but are not great shooters. I am trying to be very aware of purchasing and training balanced players and feel that so far I have done an ok job building my team.
I do have another question: Is it best to build lines with similar characteristics or is it better to build them like real hockey? With your third and fourth lines being energy players than are more aggressive and better defensively.

There are no grinding lines in PPM. Each line tries to score and not be scored on. If you balance them or if you stack a couple lines is up to you, each has their own trade off.
I am kind of in the same boat as Beanerz. I took over this team 8 games into the season, taking my time and being frugal, I have managed to build the top team in my league without spending big bucks (appx 700k total on players), but probably won't be very competitive in league III. That said, I can't bring myself to throw the final, i'd rather struggle in III, than dominate in IV (only a couple active managers).
A question I have though. With my cash on hand from the end of season rankings/player bonuses, + winning my division (assuming I do) + promotion bonus I should have around 36mil. My arena currently sits 2000, would people recommend I go for a triple, or invest all of that into facility upgrades?
I know my facilities would be lagging way behind by III standards, but my thinking is the extra seats will help in the long run. Would love to here what any of the vets (and noobs like me) think.
Thanks for any input.

Put it all into your facilities. I'd say it's too early for you to worry about a bigger facility. If you promote to 3 and are near the bottom, you probably won't sell out your home games, which makes the triple a waste.
Focus on training, SA, regen and HR.
You could also put some money into players. Experienced players will help you out next season.

Let's say I had a player who was set to become RFA. For example sake, say I have 25% bonus and a team offers $10M. Do I need to have the $7.5M available in my account within the 7 days I have to respond, or if my account was at 0 would it go to - $7.5M ?
It is 70%-bonus so in your case 45% of 10M or 4.5M. If your account is 0 you wouldn't be able to bid, is my understanding.
I'd invest it in players. Buy older, developed players who will keep you competitive for 2-3 seasons regardless of how much they train over that time.
If you stay competitive, you'll get much more money to invest in your facilities and arena.

josh you need the cash in your account when the 7 days is up. but like canucks sAID it is much more than the 25% savings.
