The problem is that when you make being in a higher div more economically advantageous you also make it harder for lower div teams to ever be able to compete with them. In the long run that would likely make people leave, no?

Yes indeed, it´s a path dependence feature that we do have, and it´s roots rely on the way the game was organized. Stronger teams tend to get stronger... see Brazilian hockey as an example.

Someone said before that it could be useful if NC seeding would be determined by position in league. That sounds interesting.

Ya I have mentioned it directly to the devs that you could sort by league then by OTR.

So seeds 1-20 would be div1 sorted by OTR
Seeds 21-100 would be div2 sorted by OTR etc.

They said it was a good idea and they'd consider it.

Who knows maybe they will. It seems ok, and if it turns out as bad idea, it could be changed.

I didn't get that vibe. But I would imagine they don't take decisions lightly. That being said, it would be yet another reason why people would promote. Higher division means better NC seeding and longer home ice advantage.

I do understand that decisions should be evaluated and above all - tested in their parallel ppm, but we could use some feedback also. It doesn't look good when we are brainstorming over something, and we don't know why some good suggestions were refused.
Than again, maybe I expect too much.

Man it fun to see my favorite tanker of all time lose a game 3 today. So yet again they can dominate there lower league and keep boosting their OTR for the NC.

Man I hope they change the way there do the NC rankings next season. It would really serve him, and the rest of the tankers out there, right for losing on purpose.

Well you have to admit this way of tanking has served Opivy well :/ I think he's a nice guy so I wish he'd man up and finally just promote.

I fully agree with you on that. Problem is trying to prove it. Some tankers and more clever then others.

When it happens year after year should be proof enough. I agree its possible to lose a year or two in a row because of guys in camp or forgetting to log on to set up your lines, etc. But when it happens for 4 straight years when you are clearly the best team in a certain league people have to start wondering. The ones that kill me are the managers that actually believe the "tankers" accidentally forgot to set their line-ups for 4-5 years in a row. Nobody is that stupid, especially when you never have a problem with line-ups or camps in the regular season.

Plus, its pretty evident when your team strength is like a 70 overall but during a playoff game you drop to a 30. I realize your backups are never as good as your starters but it shouldn't drop that much. I could see it dropping to a 50 or maybe lower but not that much lower. That tells me you are intentionally playing your "C" squad just to tank the game. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
