So you're saying that if a player has shooting skill on 100% of his main skill (midfield) he will perform better even though his rating is the same as if he would have shooting on 30% of his main skill (assuming all other factors that matter are the same, except shootiing)?
they wouldn't have the same rating because shooting does have influence on midfielder rating. But if that wasn't the case, then yes, the player with better shooting would perform better because he would probably score more goals.
Rating doesn't tell the whole story though. It doesn't tell you how well the player will perform in set pieces like free kicks, corners or penalty shots. These require different skill sets.

Did you really received a message like this??
When promotion moneys are coming? After tommorow match?
You work with the game so you should have right !
But if you look at rate, you defenitly see that its not counts in rate on midfielders.
I have many example on it, and if I look on my midfielders than look at others who have much on shooting its very clearly.
And if you look how good teams are... you could see that mine is still good.

Yes. I got it after I lost each of my two promotion matches.
So don't send your players to camp in the second last week of the season if you have promotion/relegation matches. I am guessing it will cost me a lot of sponsorship money.

Very useful to know and remember for the next future... I couldn't imagine that you could receive a sort of message like that!!
good luck anyway!

It depends on the quality of that players shooting attribute.
70% isn't too high at all if your Central Attack Midfielder has a shooting quality of around 70% or more.
btw HIGUERA, CAM = Central Attack Midfield. A central midfielder who plays behind the strikers with big shooting and offensive abilities.
Think Wayne Rooney in Manchester United (at least, that's where he plays now). David Beckham, etc

Yeah, Wayne is normally ST but he is maybe better CAM/CF, in fact i would say that Gerrard, Lampard and more CAM than Rooney. And Beckman is wingplayer?
I see, thanks... So 70% is quite reasonable indeed, since he supposedly is going to shoot more. Related to CAM position, do you think is useful to train attack?
Somehow related, could you explain us why strikers have usually the best rating in matches reports?
Well all of that was published in the news before the end of the last season, when it was introduced.
that might be because the shooting attribute gives them a bigger bonus to rating than to any other players.
That's what I thought, thanks. But I see their rating quite confusing, then, in comparison to the other positions.
I saw rating as a way to know if a player was well trained -balanced-, so supposedly any player, no matter his position, should have a similar formula to calculate his rating.
I mean, for example, a central defender and a central striker have their main skills at the same level, and the others in "perfect" ratio of training, according to their positions, so they both should get the same rating in my eyes -with same experience & chemistry, of course-.
Otherwise, if rating is different for any position, there's no way to compare the global "quality" of players from different positions...
