3. Could you explain some more? Are these "problems" just related to possession, or to anything else as well?
It should be great imho if you added some tips in the manual about what a "bad formation" is for the match engine. There are too many obscure questions...
For example, playing without a central forward, is it wrong? And without any forward? Has a 6-3-1 got any penalization? And leaving any of the zones in the middle without players? Etc...

Nope, I think that's part of your job to figure this out. Some formations may work for you even if you get penalized provided you maximize your player potential.
It's not like variety in formation is not allowed. There are many different options for you without getting penalized.

I'm not sure I like this.
It's not that I am against it in principle. That players have the possibility to leave a club at some time or that the big managers have something new to put their money in is quite ok.
But, a free agent system is so absolutely un-football-esque! Please don't just copy the hockey system. Or, at the very least, give the child a different name.

why not? I think it is well done in hockey. Also the way the market works is so un-hockey-esque, yet that's the way it works. If we could copy the reality, there would be player-for-player trades in hockey instead of auctions.
There are free agents in real football as well. A player whose contract expires is free to sign with any team he wants.

I see your point, but still I think we should be given some more info. Some weird formations can work for me, indeed, but I don't see how can I get to know if they are really penalized or not anyway, and on where my team can get a "malus", if the ME imposes it...
About the free agent thingie, is it going to be implemented this season? Even though I'm not very sure how it'll work, I'm a bit scared about it, since can only see advantages for the richest clubs... :-S

it's basically implemented already, the first free agents will hit the market next season. You will be able to pay out season bonuses this season. The season bonuses will increase your chances of keeping your best players. The system has been working in hockey for 3 seasons and there haven't been any complaints since the start (only right at the beginning when people were just as scared as you are now).
"You will be able to pay out season bonuses this season."
Current season only or for previous seasons too(like it was in hockey)?

for all previous seasons as well. And from next season only for the current season.
I'd see no problem, if the owner was allowed to extend contracts for more than 1 season, in order to avoid own players to become free agents... Otherwise, as I've said in my previous post, just an advantage for millionaires.
And, of course, it destroys team plannings for the owner clubs when they are "stolen" a player by this way, and much more for clubs like mine, competing only with players from our own Youth School...

So basically it means - get rid of old players
26 y.o. players who were well trained and pulled from 13 or 14th level of SA, would be very important for one club, and free agent option would have some serious meaning. Until then, I don't think you could care less about some old player, because he can be replaced with younger one.

You're right, but I'd love to have the player until I wanted and needed him, instead of being forced to let him leave...

You can allways pay 15-70% of bid and keep him? He's not forced to leave!
Ok, he's not forced to leave, but I'm forced to pay a -probably- big extra for a player that's already mine and was formed and trained in my team since the beginning... Fair? Nope, in my eyes...
