yes lucky match with that values.
but 58.5-41.5% possession seems suprising a lot! and his possession on wings and on my defence too..

the point is not my victory, but the ball possession!
Bad player positions - specially without wing defenders - because of that there was a penalty in match engine against you.
ok this can explain bad values on wing defence but what about central defence and wing midfield? they are also influenced by the "penalty"?
He did attack over the wings while you came (in the second half) just through the middle. In addition he had on each side an offensive defender contributing to the possession in the midfield.
Seems ok to me.

an offensive defender is a "4", your vision about his influence seems to me overvalued. moreover i have 5 players on midfield against 4 ..
however if you are right, it remains the fact the my central defence(14-14-13) was owned by a 16-10 forwards. also this seems ok to you?

I think there is a huge penalty if you don't have players on mid wing or def wing.
Also I think 3 CDs and 3 CMs standing close to each other don't give 100% of skills they have (there is penalty on them too).
That's why I say - in this matc there was so many penalties against you - and looks like penalties influence on possetion.

i think you have right about penalties.
i'm not glad to see that the only way to play in this game is the automatic 4-4-2 line-up L M R(or something similar) or the 4-5-1 M

You can play 3-5-2, 5-3-2 successfully maybe 4-3-3 also.
Point is to always have at least one player on standard field zones.

First: Right, his LD isn't that good as his RD. Altogether his left side is weaker than the right side. But your RM is better than your LM and still he has one point less possession on his left midfield box than on his right. So the '4'-guy has obviously been taken into account.
Still, the more important point I've said you didn't comment on: He attacked over L and R and you did that half of the time through the middle. I think this explains a lot of the possession in the midfield. And when I said that's ok, I just meant this point.
Second: I think novakoni has a point here. You have just three CD, no SD, that will lead to penalties.
And they are offensively positioned. So the opposing attackers 'owned' three guys that all give some of their strength to the midfield.
Third: I think one can well play with just three defensmen, but not with all of them being CD. And one should have some defensive midfielders then, too.

But I have to criticize
In first few seasons there was so many strange results with strange tactics - so developers decided to stop that - and that's ok idea.
But - I don't like the way thay did it - I was expected serious game engine changes - more complex and with individual plays.
As I see - this is just violent penalties.
I played without RM for example - and heavily lost possession in all areas of the field

I didn't want to judge if its good or bad, just to agree with what you said.
Though I must say playing with no one in the LM or RM box should lead to some penalties. But to make a proper judgement I should know how big they are. Which I don't because I never tried such a stupid thing!
