I've obtained the scouting information I asked for except for one more player I am waiting for. Thank you to Ziggy00, mmesner9, and bulls4ever for their help with scouting.
I'm ready to post the rankings for the 16 year olds. This is the prospective lineup in two seasons from now. There are still quite a few very good 16 year olds with relatively lower OR I have to scout, but this list should contain the especially promising players.
The teams refer to the original team that the player came from.

I think the team will be especially strong in two seasons.
I've added Captain97G as the assistant manager. There are 2 days left for my offer for anyone with at least 100 experience from the United States who posts in this forum to be the assistant manager for at least a few weeks.
The United States is in a division with the Czech Republic, Russia, and the Netherlands. Netherlands will likely be the team to compete with to avoid the relegation rounds. I think the United States has a fair chance of making the next round.

The United States beat Serbia 4-2 today.
I am experimenting this season with playing exhibitions on low based on a question from Captain97G about the assumption for the preference for playing on very low. This seems to increase the gain in chemistry for each game by 1, which adds up by the end of the season. Based on my earlier calculations (placing the effect of chemistry at closer to ~20%), I believe the additional chemistry outweighs the small cost in additional energy lost, making the United States stronger, at least through the preliminary round (the players who hit 100% chemistry early sit on the bench and won't be affected). This should also allow me to play the backup goalie for two more weeks once the starter his 100% (goaltenders gain chemistry faster), making it possible for the backup to take over when the starter gets tired sooner. I am continuing to assess the relative chemistry gain each week.
The United States still looks like it should be able to take a top 3 position in the group over the Netherlands. Neely, the best player on the team, sat on the bench this week.

If anyone could help scout the opposition for this season (U18 Czech Republic, U18 Russia, and U18 Netherlands), it would be very much appreciated. My scouts are tied up scouting 16 year-olds and 17 year-olds. Captain97G already has the starting lineup for the Czech Republic covered.
The United States lost 4-2 against the Netherlands today. The United States outshot the Netherlands 28-22. The last goal was an EN goal. Morris and Walsh scored for the United States.
Most of the first line players already have good chemistry, so I am starting prospects in their place (so they will start with good chemistry next year and be able to man the fifth line for the tournament). Because of this, the team is weaker than it will be for the tournament. In addition, I was starting a LD prospect as the 4th line RD since the best RD prospect was already starting and the last spot was an RD spot. The first line players with high chemistry are still sitting on the bench so that the key players gain the training bonus.
I dropped one player from the starting roster that was out of proportion and unable to improve sufficiently by the tournament. A very good prospect that is already as good as some of the 18 year old starters has taken his place.

I am going to be learning SQL and VBA (for personal reasons unrelated to PPM), so I am thinking of possibly putting together a new database for hockey (assuming SQL and/or VBA would be sufficient for that purpose). If I did this, it would probably be in the distant future (possibly as much as a year), so if anyone else with more experience with this sort of thing wants to put together something before then, it would be welcome. If not, perhaps I might be putting something together at some point.
Mattssupersteelers has volunteered to help with scouting and will be covering Serbia, who is a likely opponent if the United States can advanced to the second round. He can only cover a few players, so anyone else that might want to help that isn't already scouting would be welcome to cover the remainder of Serbia and maybe Sweden if there are enough volunteers.
Mattssupersteelers has the first line covered.
Mattssupersteelers has a newer team, so his scouting is low at this point, but any help is welcome since he offered to help.
Help with the second line would be much appreciated though.
