The United States lost 5-3 to Serbia today. The game was very close, though the United States inexplicably took 6 penalties and gave up a power play goal. I don't know why this happened since the United States has good technique and is at least as talented as Serbia this season.
The United States opened with a 2-0 lead but gave up a late goal to end the first 2-1. The United States scored again to make it 3-1. Then Serbia scored 4 unanswered goals, starting with their powerplay goal, to win the game.
The United States had better offense, shooting, and goaltending but weaker defense.
In the other game, Poland beat Croatia 2-1. The United States is currently in third place and plays Poland tomorrow. Poland has clinched the next round which could possibly help if Poland decides to rest for the next game. Poland has about the same talent as the United States with slightly better defense and weaker shooting.
If the United States wins (in regulation or overtime) tomorrow, it advances. If the United States loses in overtime, it advances unless Croatia also wins in overtime (regulation is fine). If the United States loses, it still advances if Croatia loses in regulation or if Croatia loses in overtime and the United States only loses by one goal or loses by two goals and doesn't score 3-4 fewer goals than Croatia.

Heh, just noticed that the 2nd line is 4/5 from my academy - they must be getting some bonus chemistry!
Oh, sorry about running camps now btw - I was AFK pretty much all of December and wasn't able to start a camp when I would have preferred, thus I was stuck waiting till after the league playoffs.

I hadn't noticed that. I hope they get bonus chemistry. Hatton, Doyle, and Garrett have combined for two goals and four assists so far.
This was the best season I've seen from your sports academy. You were also responsible for the second and fourth string goaltenders

All my guys are on the market. there's a few I can't sell due to them being close to being UFAs and also I need more players to keep the minimum number.
If you need info about their qualities, let me know.

The United States lost 5-4 to Poland today.
The United States won on tactics in the first period (Poland had 0 chemistry for breaking up of play) and also played very hard against normal. The United States lost on tactics in the second period; the United States had significantly better chemistry but still gave up 4 goals. The United States brought the game back to within one goal in the third. One more goal would have clinched the next round. The second period was the only period in the tournament that the United States lost in tactics, but it was costly, despite the chemistry advantage.
Poland seemed to switched around its lines to get good matchups. I anticipated this and moved the top offensive players away from the top line (the best Polish defensemen were on the second line in the last game and the first line in this game). I split the top line defense between the top two lines to the United States would have two very good defensive pairings. Unfortunately, the best Polish forwards ended up on the third line.
in the other game, Croatia beat Serbia 3-1.
The United States will compete against Canada, Belarus, and France in the next round. France is a big surprise and will be unlikely to end up in third or fourth. Even so, the United States will be competitive.
Tomorrow, the United States plays an important game against Canada.

The United States won against Canada yesterday 3-1. One more win in the next two games should most likely be enough.
The United States beat France 4-1 today to secure a return to the top division next season. Both Belarus and the United States have two wins playing against France and Canada with one relegation game left. It's very surprising to see France relegate since they seemed to have one of the stronger teams in the tournament.
France outshot the United States by a little bit, but the United States had better shooting and converted more shots. The United States won 55.2% of the faceoffs. Puck possession and penalties were about even.
France opened with a shorthanded goal, but the United States followed that goal with 4 unanswered goals, including one power play goal. Scruggs had an impressive 97.14% save percentage, though France had the better goaltender on paper.
Tomorrow, the United States plays its last game of the tournament against Belarus. I will be playing all of the 17 year olds that were good enough to make the final roster to build chemistry for next season and also give a chance to the other players that haven't had a chance to play a game.
Good luck to the senior team and the U20 team. It looks like the senior team has made the playoffs, and from that point, it is only necessary to win two games to promote. The current U20 team is the same U18 team that promoted to the top division, and that team seems to have taken first in its group in the first round this season. I think that at least one of these teams will promote this season.
I will be putting together a list of 15 year olds that I would like help scouting. I have almost heard back from enough people about 16 year olds and 17 year olds that I should be able to cover the remainder by the deadline (I might end up adding two or three to the list of 15 year olds).

Although the United States ended up losing two games in the first round, it has scored at least 3 goals in every game so far this tournament. I would like to encourage teams with good facilities to continue to train their players a lot in shooting, including defensemen to an extent (teams with lower level facilities would have a better chance by focusing on the main attributes for defensemen, unless perhaps shooting has a particularly great quality).
I already covered the 16 year olds and 17 year olds. I looked through all of the United States rosters and transfer lists today and found all the 15 year olds that could be of interest. The thresholds I chose were relatively low, so the list is long, but it covers any 15 year old that could have a chance at making the team (except for a handful of 15 year olds that I've already covered).
If you see your player on the list, a message would be appreciated. I am looking for the attributes, qualities, CL, experience, AVQ, preferred side, and average training progress. I'll wait to see who sends me information for their players and update the list with the players I still need in about a week. Then I'll ask for volunteers.
The list is based on season 19 leagues. (t) indicates that the player is from the season 19 transfer list of the team.

I'd like to start collecting the scouting information now.
The United States lost 3-0 today against Belarus in a game that didn't matter. I used the game to build the chemistry of the 17 year olds on the roster and the chemistry of the U18 team's current best tactic.
Can anyone spare a scout to help cover the best of the remaining players in the next two weeks?
I'm thinking of posting the entire rankings at each position after I would choose the team this season.
