HEy guys how do you decide home game arenas? I'd love to host one. Doesn't matter senior, u20, or u18
Agreed with Outisder626 - basically by size. You're arena is still probably among the better arenas in the United States if not close to the quality of the top 4.
The United States lost 2-0 in the Vectordome to Switzerland on Saturday. My gambit (started four games prior) to trick Switzerland to use the offensive tactic failed as they just used active forechecking.
The game was close in all considerations. The biggest factor was the success of the penalty kill in two penalties and the failure of the power play to capitalize on 5 chances. Rodger Baker has been demoted off of the second power play unit in favor of Lester Roberson, a better center with inferior shooting.
Both teams were very close in ability, but Switzerland's better offense made the difference. Switzerland goalie Anton Tomaschett stood on his head, stopping 31 of 31 shots.

The loss, while disappointing, was not too important. The United States remains the favorite after Switzerland to win the second spot in terms of ability. Belgium still has dangerous goaltending and Bosnia has emerged as a strong darkhorse candidate; Ireland has also become dangerous after finding a goalie, but the U.S. clearly remains the second best team.
The United States will play its second most important game against Belgium, TODAY come and see the game if you can:

On second though, these games don't seem to get more than 11,000 or so (or some threshold of) fans. I'm pretty sure the press center doesn't matter for national team games. Perhaps it might be worth considering moving the home stadium around to share the wealth among the non-elite teams who meet the threshold (I will have to look at past games at some point to determine the threshold).
If you're looking, I'll have 16,600 seats by tonight. I think this is the 5th best stadium in the US. But I didn't check all leagues. And it'll be complete by the end of next season.
My mistake, the opponent today is Estonia. This is a must win game.
That was a disaster, losing to one of the worst teams in a 6 round shootout. We significantly outshot them and even won on tactics.
Perhaps it helps that Switzerland only beat Belgium in overtime.
The prospects for the United States don't look great at this point. At best, the United States will be at the mercy of the random factor.

The Jinx is on the team has not scored in regular time or overtime. Next game you will brake out don't give up hope.
The United States plays Belgium today. The defense and goaltending so far have at least been effective, and they will need to be today against the team with the best goaltending ability.
