Looking back at this past season... I have 3 15 year olds that I've kept from the Academy. One that is a decent defenceman, and two more that I pulled simply because I had only pulled one player and the season was almost over. I don't know what it is, but the PPM gods really hate providing me with anything from the academy in either sport. Meanwhile some guys with the same facility level get 2 players in a pull wither higher AQ than any players I've ever pulled in each sport in almost 12 seasons. Just a little vent session here. Some of us have had no luck and I know some of you are in the same boat. You're not alone. Trust me.
I have to say that I've been somewhat lucky in the pulls in hockey. I have pulled 4 players with an AverageQ higher than 80, and a fair number in the 70s...
However, my soccer pulls have been average and even those have been few and far between... But I do have a solid team, albeit not a team of superstars.

I usually get crap pulls all season, but once in a while, I get decent players.. Weird thing is that they usually come in pairs.. And what are the odds? Whoa right?
I must say - same thing for me - very few (not in 2 seasons) of great pulls; would love to see something like they do in other games - where the randomness is altered a bit - ie: if you get a great pull - chances of another one lowers, if you get a bad pull - chances of a great pull increases.....
I got my first 4 star pull I've ever had, so I guess this was a good season. But I tend to feel the same way as canucks357
You mean shafted, bitter and miserable? Ya I feel ya

I bet I'll get a 5 star custodian since I complain so much. Something good but more or less useless

Wrong, 23 is the roster size for NHL and most IIHF sanctioned tournaments, but only 20 can be dressed for any one game.
but in IIHF events and generally in Europe, you can dress 22.
From the IIHF website:
A maximum of 20 players and 2 goalkeepers can be dressed and on the Game Sheet

Same site also talk about the NHL:
A maximum of 18 players and 2 goalkeepers can be dressed and on the Game Sheet

thank you
Do European teams dress 8 defense? I found a scoresheet from the final and both Canada and the US dressed 7 D and 13 forwrds.

The newbie needs some advice from the vets here!
Going into the playoffs, my best forward and my 3rd dman are injured. Should I play them when they'll be day-to-day? Are their performances greatly diminished by not being fully healthy?

They will be diminished by their injuries, yes... I would shy away from playing injured players, myself.
