Why on earth do teams dress 8 defense? Virtually every pro or semi pro league in the world has 20 players dressed for a game. That's 2 G, 6 D and 12 F, with occasional exceptions for 5 or 7 D.
Really!? Someone has lies to me so far??? Can't believe it

hahahahah what scares me is some people seem to think reality is easy to replicate in a game. It's not. Games will always be based on numbers and (dare i say it) a certain amount of chance. If people want reality, they need to buy a pair of skates and go join a league.
Because in "hockey" there is 4 attack lines and 3 defensive line and they play whenever the coach tells them. So in a game you have your attack lines playing with any pair of defense.
In PPM, they aren't separated and thus you need 4 full line.
And just for future reference, hockey teams doesn't only dress 20 players. They can dress less or more. The NHL limit is 23. The only reason they keep the absolute minimum is because of training, playing time and salary aspect, else they would always dress 23 players.

Well in NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007,you can dress up to 23 players so you are surely right

It depends on the league, if you play a regular season NHL game in EHM 2007, you can only dress 20. You can have 23 players on the roster, but only 20 "Dressed" in the game
the rules for maximum roster size, dressed players, etc change depending on the competition. NHL is 20, thus why you see standard 6 D, 12 F, 2 G (but some teams will do 7 D, 11F, 2 G) and max roster size of 23 for most of the season
IIHF, and sometimes exhibition you can do 22, thus 8D, 12F, 2 G, or 7D 13F 2G
So, check the rules of the nation/league first. In PPM, we are allowed to dress 22 players. It's not wrong, just that's the "rules" for our league.

That is because PPM rules are the IIHF rules that are commonly played throughout Europe and most of the world.
