No. If they're not on a NT or the market when a team dies, they'll not hit the market under any status.
So this player is basically retired unless he gets picked for one of the Swiss teams?

Yes and even they get added to the NT now, since they are added AFTER their team is dead they won't go on the market.
Bummer. If I had signed up one day earlier or that particular owner quit 2 hours later, I would have gotten him.

Are the press releases a pro pack feature, or are the available to all? Thinking of writing some, but seems pointless if I'm just going to lose that option in 10 days.
Or maybe a better question is where can I find a list of pro features unavailable to free users?
In the PRO zone you can find all information about the features. Or just follow the link:

And yes, press releases are part of the pack.

So um, how accurate is the quality scouting thing, anyway? I never noticed this before, but I have a really odd one here:
17 yo 5/6 CL goalie, 97 energy, 90 Q in technique, +1.50 (142 total)
16 yo 6/6 CL player, 98 energy, 92 Q in tech as well, +1.45 (67 total)
Does the actual attribute also matter? Am I missing something? Is there a hidden attribute somewhere? Neither player were in a game yesterday so we can rule that out. In fact, the goalie played more recently. if anything..

Actual attribute doesn't matter. Scouting is 100% accurate. There are many variables that come into play with training, one, quite simply, is a random fluctuation.
