I hope when you say 2 1 1 , that you also train shoot. You should train shoot up on all players, but Goalies. Off should be 2 1 1 1 Def should be 4 2 2 1 2 that one being tech. it also looks that we will now also have to add at least 1 on pass on wingers. Which means your wingers are gonna be crap unless you trained them up. Which based on how engine was, most people do not. Kind of upset over this change as you can tell.

For defenders, that tech can not be 1 because then aggression will be higher than ech and you will get a ton of penalties. you must keep tech at least equal to Agr.
is there any guidance on the three powerplay or penalty kill tactics aside from the brief description in the guide?
so technically speaking which PP tactic does best against each PK tactic and vice versa.
i understand that there maybe other factors that affects how well your team plays each tactic, but im interested in the basic theory.
i skim read this long and unwieldy thread and couldnt find anything relevant to answr my question

To second what fluff said, I wish there were a search function for the forums instead of my having to read through hundreds of pages.
new forums - full stop! ive never known such a poor layout, no separate threads for help questions or anything. at least the guide and faqs are helpful

1. I tend to use more of a weighted average (a weighted harmonic mean would be better). You don't want to neglect an attribute, but recognize that it will take longer to train. A player who has more balanced qualities might be better. So a particularly low quality might mean the player ends up on the transfer market.
2. I rotate through the training. If one of the secondaries is low, I will catch it up gradually.
3. I have the others following along behind. After a while, you'll be looking at your facilities and trying to figure out how to raise a bazillion to improve a facility one level, and realize that you can improve your maintenance for a couple million. The cost of each level, increases quite rapidly.

4. We all started out with players 16-20 of relatively modest skills. Since our training facilities were non-existent, they trained slower. We have had several times as many YP as original players, so we could have more talent in our YP. Career longevity is also important to training speed. And CL is some what of a function of age. So the older players may have dropped to CL of 3 or 4. Once they are no longer good enough to start in league matches, they have no value - unlike a young trainee.
You might be able to pick up these older players for relatively cheap, and be able to get a faster start, but you don't want tobe neglecting the long term development of your team.
5. A cheap way to scout is to train players in each skill. It varies some from day to day, but it will reveal the relative quality of the skills. I'd probably run your GK through all the skills. I had one original GK who ended up being converted (it was a so-so experiment. He trained fast enough, but he had a lot of wasted GK skill.
6. Winning friendlies could help a tiny bit with OTR, but your players will tire out. If you end up having to use your friendly players as subs or starters in the playoffs you will get blasted. Since energy resets at the start of the season, it probably wouldn't hurt you to use a higher level, but it may be a bad habit to get into.

7. PPM uses an unbalanced pyramid. Your division would feed into IV.25...IV.28 if they existed. So you are actually in the lowest division.
PPM would be better off distributing the IV leagues and putting all new teams in IV, but they seem to have a blind spot to that.
10. When you cut a player, you pay the remainder of his contract. So it is a matter of all at once or gradually. If you could train the player to a level that he could be sold, it might make sense to keep him around. And it could give you a bit more to spend on facilities now.
But it is also probably a good idea to get rid of a player once you have made the decision.

meh. I will keep mine a t 4 2 2 1 2 set thanks. Bad enough that I have to train it, not wasting more then i have to. I can live with 6-8 penelties per game as long as i kill 80% +
That should be "nicknames". If he played at MSG, he'd be called much worse.
But deleted nickname was payed for by some team. I think it should stay with a player forever.
