Well sorry for the incorrect info, let me rephrase that, I will not play my players on non preferred side under any circumstance.
I have always done the 3 D on PK and it is definatly not a good idea after checking the stats, my PK was towardss the bottom of the league.
and how about adding a 4th offensive player (with some defence skills) to help out on PP ?

Does the engine match up lines as much as possible in the game or is it totally random depending on percentage.

I was looking at leaguy stats and there is a big difference from the first and last teams which makes it seem like you can either train an atty to generate penalties or there is a tactic that makes you more likely to draw penalties.

I believe team strength partly affects penalties. Weaker teams are more likely to commit penalties against stronger teams.
I think your ratio of technical to aggressiveness also has something to do with it...since defensemen without the tactical skills to cleanly get a play will aggressively take a penalty instead
Actually, I am very happy with my training programs in both soccer and hockey. I've been revising both for quite a while, and now I'm very happy with my training programs and my players are still in transition. But they are getting stronger.
Training players in hockey is much easier because fewer attributes. But soccer has so many attributes that are necessary for all players. You have to ensure that you aren't wasting time training low attributes. The qualities of the attributes heavily dictate the positions for which your players are qualified.
Now I'm playing different squads for friendlies and league games to ensure decent energy levels. I'm also playing a lot more games on low. I figure I will stay at whatever level my team is at until they can win on low. That will ensure that my team is more competitive when I do promote.

I wrote a script to download my teams results from the calendar and then pluck out statistics from them for analysis. Is that okay? I don't want to violate any of the rules. I am not doing anything I wouldn't be able to by clicking through each page, it's just saving me the time of manually typing all the stats I'm interested in.
If you have the know how go for it. A lot of players use spreadsheets.
I am concerned with the rule stating it's forbidden "to browse pages, create, use or distribute applications, which automatize some parts of the game, unless approved by game creators". I feel as though I'm automatizing data collection which is not part of the game. I just wanted to make sure that is the interpretation that others would take.
I'd wait for an official developer response on this, however I think they are more concerned with such actions as automating things you have to do in the game, not as much with data collection. IE, scheduling friendlies or something of the like
Some time ago, when there were more severe server load problems, I was banned for automated data collection and then unbanned, when I have promised that I won't continue doing it.
