I wound up staying up and watching it, my point goes away also but nice to see an upset. Originaly the Ducks were my pick for second round also but the way san jose beat LA they kind of won me over for this round.

Now it comes to Pitt. So I expect us to take game 3.

Absolutely agree. Even the broadcasters agreed. That hit was way outside the lines.

And, that was really the only sour note to that game. Compared to the Tampa vs. NYI game, the Caps-Pens game was the only playoff game that actually got played yesterday.

Even Mike Milbury was ranting how it was dirty.
I mean its not new. Milbury has done plenty of hits that could be considered "dirty"
This is from something I read.

But it looks like Maatta could be gone for some time. Now its time to see what our D is made of and if they can hold up.

Maatta being gone for some time is beyond question. When he sat up on the ice it was clear he had no idea what was going on. Clear sign of a nasty concussion. If the Pens let him play any time soon it will be a major mistake.

It sucks that someone can cause, apparently deliberately (or at least without fore thought), such damage to a career and only face a few days of punishment. Wouldn't it be interesting to see both of them out until the injured party could play again? I don't see it happening, but it would definitely change things up!!!

I know when he got up he was woozy and barley able to skate.

So if you intentional hurt someone and there out for the season. Your out for the season too. That would be fun. That might stop most of that.

I honestly hope he gets suspended for the rest of the playoffs. That would be fair to me.(The Pens side of me)

It was beyond dirty it was a deliberate intent to injure, that can threaten a players career .

I'll say they will give him three games suspension but I think if I was the comish its adios to the rest of his playoff season. If they want to stop that cheap stuff in playoffs they will need to be way more firm than they are.

On a bright note the pens are faster team than I thought they are motoring around pretty good.
