I am thinking the hawks win and the blues piss away another series

Blues fans would be pissed! I also think the Ducks will wrap it up tonight.

I am hoping Nashville wins and the ducks have to play longer. The sharks need all the rest they can get after playing the kings

That series is the Ducks to lose now. Nashville has an honest chance to win the series. It should have never gone to 7 games.

In other news, we now know the Stars will lose to the Blues instead of the Hawks. With a regular season record against the Blues of 1-2-3, it should be an entertaining series...but barring an upset, the outcome in my opinion is a given.

(Commentary: I am impressed and pleased to see the Blues finally make it out of round 1 for the first time in a very long time.)

I bleed blue so I'm a lil biased. I just could not see Chicago's 3 defenceman stand up to the beating over a long series. I don't think they did, winning goal was because part time d man did not get back in front of net in any kind of timely fashion and Kieth had two turnovers in first period that led to the other Blues goals. Chicago needs to add some depth on the blueline. just my opinion don't hate me hawk fans.

As Hitchcock said at times the blues looked like the Washington Generals (Harlem Globetrotters opponent) chasing Kane around the ice but its good win on to Dallas.

Who wins if Blues Pens meet in cup? Just wondering.

According to the Verizon Center calendar, the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals will start their 2nd round NHL playoff series with back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday.

But I think that this time the winner will depend on the supporting cast. Rather then Crosby and Ovechkin.

The best-of-seven series will start Thursday night at 8 p.m. at the Verizon Center

The first four games have been slated for 8 p.m.

Game 1 is Thursday at Caps. Game 2 is set for Saturday at Caps

Then, Games 3 and 4 will be at Pens on Monday, May 2, and Wednesday, May 4.

Finally, if necessary, Game 5 is set for Saturday, May 7 at the Verizon Center, Game 6 will be played Tuesday, May 10 at CONSOL Energy Center, and Game 7 is scheduled for Thurday, May 12 at the Verizon Center.

No times have been set yet for those games.

Playoff Predictions Notice

It seems that the next round starts before the first one ends. The deadline to post predictions for round 2 is Thursday at 7:00 ET, however, if you don't post before the start of the TBL-NYI game, the possible tiebreaker point for getting the number of games right for that series will be forfeit.

Remember that you get to start over in a new round. If you chose the wrong teams in the previous round, you still get to make predictions in the current round.

I was thinking of opening up the predictions to anyone that posts before the deadline, even if they didn't participate in the first round. It's unlikely that anyone would catch up due to the reduced number of series (more than half of the series to be played take place in the first round), but I don't want to upset anyone that has been participating since the beginning. If at least two people who made any sort of predictions in the first round veto this change, then it won't go through.

I will tabulate results for the first round after the ANA-NSH game.

If you make a prediction before Wednesday's game, make a prediction for both ANA/SJS and ANA/NSH.
