The playoff uses a single match knockout system and the home field advantage is not applied. The financial profit from the match is divided equally between both teams.

There is some kind of penalty for teams that have different teams on offense and defense?. This action in real handball not performed (not because they can not), but if they would performed the action should penalize them and a lot.
I play that way and feel really penalized for that. Still pays to play that way for my team given the players I got and the less energy spent by each player, but it´s really a hard balance since I´m fighting for the 8th place now.
I play that way, I didn't realise it even was a bad thing at all? I've found myself at the top of the table so conserving energy is needed anyway.
currently there is no penalty for that besides the fact that on fast breaks, there are no substitutions. So on fast breaks you have defensive guys in offense and offensive guys in defense.
I think that as players train more and the difference between offensive and defensive players increases, it's going to be hurting teams more on fast breaks than now and that 'no sub' penalty will become more obvious, which means it should sort itself out.
When a player is on FB he is all alone in front of goal, what is the diference who is defending?
I strongly disagree.
Just because a 'flaw' eventually 'sorts itself out' is no reason to not set it straight from the beginning.
For example, at the moment the number one team in germany usually plays two totally different teams in offense and defense. And successfully so. (And rightly so, since the match engine is flawed in this respect as it is.)
This is totally unrealistic and should also be easy to fix in the match engine. Say, just add a minor malus for each player over two or three that is substituted between defense and offense. And, they could even turn this into a tactical feature, by lowering this malus when Slow transition is played. Much like Fast breaks even at the moment punishes it.
And though this may become better with time and with players where Throwing and Blocking diverges, I'm not sure the problem will just 'sort itself out' completely. Look at football, even a player/striker with absolutely no training in Shooting can score...

I can agree as well in view of real handball. But please PPM, if you want to change it you have to inform us minimum one season before. The managers who are playing with specialised players must have enough time to change the player's training.
I absolutely disagree. I am playing 12+2 since 1st day of season 1, training different offensive and defensive formation, because it was obvious from the beginning, that this strategy will be more effective after some tíme. There was no penalty in manual mentioned and it influenced my decision. So it is only on your decision as a manager of team, whether you will play on 1 formation, that is cheaper on player wages, or 2 formations. I am strongly against any penalties for substitutions after 2 or more seasons played, because trained skills can not be changed from day to day.
