this. The number of PIMs depends not only on your tech-agr ratio, but also on the opponent's. Why is it like this? Because sooner or later we would have very few penalties due to the fact that most managers would be trying to avoid taking penalties. That is perfectly normal. But we cannot have games with 0 penalties because that is just not too realistic.
Penalties are not always connected to aggression.
When you play a stronger, better team you will no doubt take more holding, hooking, tripping penalties. Watch NHL or other real life hockey games where a slower, weaker team plays a strong one... penalties happen.

Yes, but surely if that's the case your opponent would be the one being penalised, not you.
Are you suggesting that team A's PIMs are calculated based on Team B's team aggression? If that's the case, then there's an issue.

I guess it's calculated more on Team B's tecnique. It makes sense. If your team's tech is adequate to your agr, it's ok for equal or weaker teams. But it may be not enough for opponents with better tech (agr).
Seems just like real life to me, if you're over aggressive on a check and some stud speedster dekes you out of your shorts, you grab him, slash him, hook him or watch him get a breakaway.
His Tech > Your aggression.
His Tech > Your aggression.
Which would mean:
High level of your players tech would provocate more penalties for your opponent, which coild be an advantage?

If I understand it it means that a team with TEC=90 AGR=80 will get more penalties than a team with TEC=30 AGR=10. Right?
