That widening gap is almost a canyon and we're only 3 seasons in.
Just had a little look for you. Here's the progress of one of my NT players Joost Reukers for this month:

He has an average training of 0.604 for this month and an average training of 0,73.
Now let's compare him to a player of similar talent and age, Wouter Smets.
Wouter also trains around 0.6 on most of his skills, but this is his progress for March:

His training output doubled since the trainingscamp started, as it did with most my players. Having NT players is actually damaging my training progress and that during the normal season they also get a 0.1 boost once a week doesn't offset the trainingloss now!

Have to agree with TB, especially when comparing new contracts with others.
But Schorpie if you had taken advantage of a camp and eaten the losses (you still make playoffs with two more losses so who cares) AND used the bonus from NT you would have had a larger gain - don't complain about an opportunity, in the US it's called "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth."
I am not the one complaining here! I am very proud about my boys and my boys can represent their country with or without a traininsbonus. I am just very weary about the so-called advantage that they had.
And if I lost two more matches, I would have finished a spot lower, had a harder first round of the play offs and perhaps that would have cost me the championship!

Maybe I'm just blind but I can't see a big issue with OTRs.
Because the overall rating decreases 30% at the end of every season, there's an OTR limit that can't be passed eventhough you won every single match during the season. Because OTR is the main factor in sponsor nagotiations, there's also a limit for sponsor offers and so on the gap can't wide endlessly.

To further illustrate the advantage here are some numbers.
-There are 22 NT games per season.
-At this time I get around .30 increase in training on game days (that will get higher as my TF gets built)
-assuming he's called up for every game I would get approximately 6.6 more attribute points for that 1 player in 1 season.

I believe there should be gains made by teams that win and do well in national tournaments. The issue is how much gain and does the repeat of that gain make it harder and harder for other teams to have a chance to get to that point.
To illustrate it the better 5% of teams are making 11m or more a week. Some were making almost that in season 3! I've done fairly well, have always been in the top 300 OTR internationally, am in my countries I.1, am in the CwC for next season, have a lvl 9 HR, and yet my weekly income (from a 5 star) is still around half that of those top 5% teams. Note the 5% figure is a guess but the fact they're making that much or more is based on their own reports.
Now if I'm doing well and getting half what they're making how can teams not doing as well as myself hope to build up to be able to compete with them? How can I hope to? This is after 3 seasons. Imagine how it will be after 6! I doubt that I'll be around if the disparity grows at this rate. I doubt many will be. You'll be left with those few uber teams waving their *** around wondering where the competition went....

How about a tiered OTR loss - OTR over X loses X percent, OTR over Y loses Y percent etc. Don't make it grossly out of proportion but make it reasonable so the "mid majors" can have a run at it.
That's an interesting approach. Perhaps rather than actually reducing the OTR they could lower the increase. So for example the OTR gain for the top 5% of teams is reduced by x% or something. This is assuming they actually want to do something about the growing divide....
Well...
OTR 100 loses 30 points at the end of the season
OTR 200 loses 60 points
OTR 300 loses 90
OTR 400 120
OTR 500 150
OTR 600 180
(I don't think anyone can go further than 600)
Every team gets approximately the same OTR bonus from winning (better teams get a bit less from winning because they usually play against worse opponents) so teams with the highest OTR must win much more than the low OTR teams if they want to improve their OTR season after season.
While some people whine that random has too big influence in match calculations, some people (not pointing at anyone) say that big teams are getting too strong to compete against them...

The problem isn't the big teams OTR gains over the period of the season - its the overly generous gains in playing in cup matches. I can see still gaining OR when you lose but just not as much for winning and losing as they gain. Look at the top two teams in US I.1 they are way way ahead.
After a player has played so many seasons in another country, and NOT played for their home country - they should become eligible for the country they currently live / play in.
Easier solution: You should be able to choose the Nationality of your player when you draft them. If you really want International players, you can draft players from the smaller countries with International teams.
