That is one of my primary issues also. That, and the (already mentioned) gap.
i have no problem with you guys comparing to other teams, I was just stating where my thought process is. Because I didn't get my team until June I have always been behind other teams, that's the main reason I try not to think about them

well, by knowing what other teams make helps to figure out how it all works and what gives most influence on sponsorship offers, is it OTR or facility lvl or what...

OTR... about 90% OTR, so unless you have a strong team, or get a lot of money and can build a strong team you're not going to get a huge OTR.
so i guess for not that strong teams is pointless to try and get in top divisions because there they wont get that much OTR by competing with strong teams... wich will result in not so good sponsorship offers, my guess.
I should clarify what I mean.
The issue of the widening gap between top teams and other teams is not my concern. Trueblue and others are on top of that issue and have already articulated the arguments better than I could. I'll let them fight that battle.
My primary concern is that it is more beneficial for teams to avoid promotion or to throw games to get relegated than it is to fight it out to stay at the top.
Obviously comparing your team to other teams is necessary for both, so i misspoke when i said i was ignoring that all together.

In fact, the best thing to do would be make it to a Division where you can come first, and then lose the PO so you come third in the PO and then lose your promotion/relegation match to ensure you stay in that division.
End result is 3rd place in the league after playoffs, you stay in a league you can dominate in, and you get good OTR for doing it. Win-Win-Win.

Therein is the catch22 for the programers in this issue. If you dont make enough reward for those on top what's the incentive to promote. If you make too much reward for those on top how can anyone ever hope to promote.
yep, i cant complane about my teams strenght, i think its quite enough to compete in top division, i was thinking here more of weaker teams that its really more beneficial for them wait with promotions and build up team in lower divisions as you said (if i understand correct what you said).
Of course, PPM changed the rules recently so that if you throw a game on purpose it's "breaking the rules", so they essentially have you by the balls. Lose and you are cheating. Win and you get screwed financially.
Sheesh!
Sheesh!
2nd after playoffs but I get the point. Isn't it sad for it to work out that way? so it's Win-Win-Win-fail lol
what i noticed is that being in top division the most bonuses are just payout bonuses at the end of season for player and team achievements and getting chance to compete in international cups...
No doubt this time next season we'll be here having this same discussion, pointing to a gap that's grown a bit wider all saying "i told you so".
