See that's another thing. The winners of top leagues get to play in the CWC, etc right? Well that just gives them even bigger OTR bonuses. I agree that we need to reward those teams that get to play in the CWC, but how about just give them a medal or trophy and bragging rights. Why is there a need to help their OTR grow more than it already is? Surely PPM are aware that the OTR is going to ensure they get a great big sponsor payout.

not quite, in CWC can compete team fron any division as long as you win National Cup, the only international tournament that only top division has right to compete in is Champions League.
So, even if youre not in top division you still have a chance to compete in CWC!

ahh, but that's only if you conspire to throw a game with another coach. unless they added another rule there's nothing about just throwing the game yourself

I'm with you, but not to that extent. There does need to be extra bonus for competing in and especially winning the CWC or CLC. The reason I believe this is in order to be competative in those you have to jeopardize your energy to use to compete in that years NC or your league. The CWC is sort of a nice hybred actually since you don't have to be in I.1 to compete in it.

Perhaps something to offset the impact of the CLC could be a div 2, 3, 4, etc CLC with each just offering a bit less cash/OTR rewards. I suppose that at anything above div 3 would get touchy since there's so many divisions within that.

not rally, you can be in 2nd division and still make very strong teams, look at my dads team [hockey_team=26187] I`d say he could even compete for 1st place in top division... but he got promoted to 2nd division just this season! I`d say hes team has all the chances of winning NT and getting into CWC its just matter of luck since team is really strong!

yes, i lost quite amount of energy witch propably resulted of me not getting in top 3 after PO... but for price of this energy i gained around 30-40 points of OTR which is not to much and not to less...

i can find out but later toaday I`ll just pm you... its quite easy for me to calculate this kind of things since we play whole family hehe and i can compare my team to they and get some clue about what is what...

well my conclusion for all this is - dont rush to be in top division if team is not strong enough to compete for medals haha

Ya know, an easy semi-fix around this is to simply base the sponsor offers on the OTR value AFTER the 30% reduction is taken off it.

sometimes you don't mean to get promoted. You waste all your energy getting through the 2nd round, then send all your best players to camp during p/r games and you still get promoted.... lol

I concur. I gave people bad advice up until now to say they should push on to I.1 no matter what. I guess it's hard for any competitor to want to lay down like that.
