but i think its quite logical tho... its completely real to make a strong team by not being in top division, just have do make smart decisions on managing team and its finances...

the catch is to get 2nd or 3d place in 2nd league and not get promoted if youre not sure of your teams capabilities... and quite often you get noname or dead team against you...
(I know this isn't necessarily what you meant but...) i suspect quite a bit could be fixed by holding sponsors off till after the season turnover. (the lower OTR, but actually getting better money for promoting in the season you promote)

Yep, that's exactly what i meant 
and that's the problem, the strategy shouldn't be to avoid promoting too fast...

Could you see a coach saying "My team will get killed i the 1st round if we qualify for the playoffs, so we are gonna make sure we don't"

That's not necessarily the case. To accomplish what he's proposed they would simply have to change the date of the OTR reduction to the next game day calculation following the last possible promotion/relegation match of the season.
Mathimatically tho I'm questioning if this would work tho. If everyone loses the same % of OTR everyone still has the same proportion. If I have 200 you have 100 I have 2x the OTR you do. If we both go down 20% we're at 160 and 80 so I'm still 2x your OTR...

yes thats the problem. I`m not saying its right as it turns out to be at the moment, but it is as it is! You can take your chances and get promoted and get crushed by other teams and loose some money (or stay at same point) from sponsorships, or stay at the top of 2nd division and keep strenghten your team until youre sure of its perfomance in top division. In any case you don loose any finances, only dont get so high (how to say it right) bonus...
Isn't that how the Cowboys put together a Super Bowl contending team in the 90s? Sat down at the bottom of the league a couple seasons for great draft picks then all of a sudden were contenders? lol
But I keep forgetting, these are the rules I should live by them, not complain.
So my goal this year will be to get demoted to II.4, where I can dominate every season, make sure I lose in the playoffs and rake in OTR and money. In a season or two the added money from not promoting will have made my team so good that I can win the NC and compete in the CWC. And I an do it all by playing within the rules and never actually putting anything on the line.

and who said you would be able to dominate so easy in II.4? tou don`t think there would be some strong teams that could give you some competition?

could you imagine if this game had a draft style system. you'd have 3/4 of the coaches trying to make sure their team finished dead last.

oh i know there's some good teams. but right now they have no feeder leagues so when a coach quits they are replaced by a brand new team and you never get strong teams promoting into the league to make it stronger.
in any case I`m to competitive myself and i could not stand myself to demote my team on purpose hehe Even being in top division is not enough I want more
