Another question, folks. Are these acceptable ratios?

100-50-10/55-10/60 P-Se-Tec-Sh Defender

10/55 means that you don't need to train tech unless it has good qualities. For instance, well trained tech (from 50-55) could give you less penalties in a game, but you could live with 2-3 penalties more if your defender has bad quality (up to 50) in tech. You will get more by neglecting tech and make him great defender, than to train his bad quality tech and make him mediocre road-block.
Same goes for shooting - if you have good qualities for shooting with your defender, you should train it. If you don't have, you better concentrate only on defending skills.

Primary-Secondary ratio comes with 95% of certainty, while shooting ratio (for wingers and centers) is more like 60%.

He was pulled in late January with 342 OR. But as you probably know already (from the guide): "The higher the level (SA), the more juniors will be coming out and the better prepared (Higher OR) they will be."
So if you pull a player with great qualities he will probably have 300+ OR even at level 9 SA.

But like I wrote in my previous post, it's a real gamble. I have lvl 14 SA, but my pulls varies a lot. Sometimes I can get a great talent with only 400 OR. Other times I get mediocre players with 410 OR and also a fairly decent players with only 340 OR.

I never would have guessed that shooting should be trained higher than the secondaries. I did notice that the other teams within my league had a much, much higher shooting strength, but for some reason it didn't register with me. I'm glad I asked.

All I can say is that I can't wait until I can afford a higher level SA. It's frustrating that the players I purchased through the market in my first season are still my best with only a handful of my own prospects able to crack the lineup. I finally broke down a few days ago after a few seasons of purposely avoiding the market. I always assumed my SA would've filled in the holes where my team was lacking, but my prospects have been coming in with low overalls and very average qualities leaving them unable to eclipse those original market players.

I do have a few gems that I'm very proud of though. It'll take them another season or two to catch up, but they'll get there.

Now, I see you haven't bought sporting directors yet again, and it would give some push with players OR from SA. Better some than nothing. Just don't buy those with 80+ and you'll be fine.
As for time, and Vlady's "no", all I can say that some people know when to pull and they don't change their habits even if they pull lousy players here and there. They do get nice prospects at least twice in a season, and it's great thing for any manager here.
If time is not the issue, they sure persuaded lottery system to be generous since they are so persistent due to their claims.

Yeah, during my first two seasons I had market staff for each of the major facilities, but it sort of bit me in the end in that I ended up paying them a decent amount of funds that could've bought me a few upgrades. Since then I've been wary of having them at all.

The staff I have now are the ones that looked like they had potential when they showed up at my door. I sort of had the attitude if they show up and look good I'd hire them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try and sign them.

Anyways, I'll take a shot at the market staff. I have a bid on one whose new contract is one I can handle once the current one is over. His youth training is in the 40s. Thanks for all the help!

Anyone have an idea how much of a penalty is given for a player who is day-to-day?

none as far as i know.

the only thing i know is he cant train, i think if he is day to day he stands a better chance of aggravating the injury, or maybe getting a worse one.

I don't know the exact numbers, if it is 5, 10 or 15 percent. But what I do know is that the penalty is biggest when the player has 5 days left of his injury, and it decreases each day until he once again is healthy.

How about penalty given for not playing on preferred side?

You all are giving me a lot of help, thanks. One more though...how much will energy affect play? I have a guy with a high rating but only a 41 energy. Will that bring his effective play way down?

41/100 energy means he's going to play with 41/100% of his ability.
