I had thought all offers with a certain star rating were roughly the same
I just finished a new skybox last night and got a 4* offer which is paying me $254k a week - I already had a 4* in another section paying 532k a week. Is this an error, or is it because my OTR dropped at the end of last season?

Likely due to OTR. However, I feel like when you finish a box part-way through a season the formula for the sponsor offer is different than when you get a choice whether to accept or not. However, I have no conclusive facts to back that up, just a suspicion. So I'll stick with the OTR influence

So, let me ask; When you first started, did you guys have a hard time finding teams to play friendlies that were down on your level?
I quickly noticed that I was getting no OR boost when I lost but, I am having problems finding teams (that actually have managers) to play with where I have a chance to win a game or two.
Playing more games seems to be a common suggestion on the threads and I'm-a-tryin'. How far ahead does everyone plan?

You can also pick any Team (profile) and challenge them directly through their schedule/calendar. Then you pick the day and type of Game.
Thus you dont have to pick opponents automatically...
Losing doesn't provide you with any Points, but you got to know winning against a stronger Team or weaker Team provides you with the same amount of points...better for you to avoid stronger one's
Playing friendlies makes your players grow with chemistry and expérience. Not as much as championship but still is better than not playing and losing that. Friendlies also dont cost that much energy on the long run over the season so it won't hurt your team before post season.
Friendlies makes you earn some money (shared) to save a little on your daily costs.
Eventually try to play as much as possible in low or Very low importance to save your players energy (most important criteria for performing well), prevent injuries, and daily training will also be better than playing normal or higher importance.
Enjoy the Game

He could use automatic search, it's good feature.

It's also important to know that in your first season (if this is indeed your first) winning is not nearly as important as building. So it's not worth it to, say, play every game on normal as opposed to playing games on very low or low but building chemistry and experience for your team.
i wouldnt worry if they have managers or not either, you still get the boost and try the different styles of play.and you still get half the money.
Of course. Beginners should concentrate in building HR department and SA, and only if they have more than 8 non-bots in their league they should concider buying players with 2-1-1 or close ratio, and try not to spend more than 200.000 per player.
There are about 60 friendlies in one season, and if you win most of them - it's 15 OTR points. It's not much, but it could give extra million or two on sponsor offer.

Dont worry so much about the winning or lossing of friendlies so much. The OR boost from those games are pretty small. Yes they add up over time but being a new team this should be your primary focus. As others have said your facilities should be your focus and just getting chemistry for your starters. Play very low on friendlies and what ever you see fit for regular season. I only say very low if you have starters in your friendly line-up as you want to consever a much energy for the playoffs as possible.
As sort of a take-off on that aside: At this point in the game's life cycle I would definitely recommend that new players use Popaji's advice as far as the market goes. With more managers all of the time and the average OR of players on the rise, it is much easier to snag a few decent players off of the market for relatively little money. Sure, most of them have some kind of downside, but they are worth the boost they'll give you if you buy smartly. I'm still playing some of those early buys a couple of seasons into the game, as they were MUCH better than the team that was generated for me in both the actual numbers and atty qualities.
Thank you all for your suggestions! I should have come here (to the boards) three weeks ago. I'm sure I'll be back.
Why doesn't react to opponent's removal of the fourth line apply when the opponent starts with 3 lines????
I want to play 4 lines unless the opponent starts with 3 or reduces to 3.

Yeah, that's been frustrating me too. I'll drop that the next time i'm in suggestions.
