The other one online managerial game had the same solution for sponsor. You pick expectations (1-3, 4-7, 8-12, 13-18) and if you fulfill that you got the sponsormoney, if not your sponsormoney is halved (not the sum you choose, but what you achieved). After some review they found a flaw in that system so they throw that system...
I am not talking about that solution.
I can't choose what my boss and fans and sponsors expect from my club. Real Madrid fans will always expect CL and league trophy. Especially when they buy 8 great players.
Expectations would depend of - previous results (OTR), team strength, players salaries, average player overall rating, etc.
And - that online game was absolutely the same as PPM in all other segments ?? What wasn't good for one could be good for other.
Point is to make this game interesting for more then few people. Only way is to make more dynamic financial mechanism. (beside the more important thing - improved game engine

I'm curious... you talk about an improved game engine.
What would YOU do to improve it?
What would YOU do to improve it?
If you ask me for code - i don't know - i am not a programer
First I thing at the moment there is no individual plays in game engine - just calculations that depend on average values (player skills, there position on field, field zones,...). And that implicate little diversity in players training, little tactical possibilities, no thinking about how your forward with great heading would react on fact that your wings can't cross the ball, or what ever that good made individual plays would involve in game.
As I said many times - we don't have assists in match statistics - for me that's the clear sign there is no individual plays.

I agree that assists seriously need to be on the list of things to add. Goalie stats also are an essential they need to add.
As for individual plays... i'm not sure i agree 100% with you here, as if you look at the hockey engine which does have assists, one would assume the football engine works in a similar way.

Well having assists in statistic don't have to mean there is individual plays. They could just randomize it like they do in live coverage. But that's not the point - point is to make individual plays that would give real assistants and real scorers.
So you believe right now it's just pretty much random who scores?
Yes - I believe
Off course - that's not complete random - there is chance or possibility - and central forwards have biggest chance to score (or to make shoot) - but first calculation must say that team has scored (or made the shoot) and then the scorer is picked.

I agree, I don't believe the scorers are random at all. I've no problem believing there is some form of individual play involved.
You should read the forums more. The PPM staff have explained that this is not the case.
I would really like to see how that individual play looks ??
I was thinking it looks like:
player A pass to player B and player B scores. (I can't imagine simplest individual play).
But on my surprise - there is no assists
So it may looks like:
Player B get the ball and scores
how on earth did he get the ball? right from the sky? for me that's not individual play

He finds the ball on his feet and speeds forward...

Right, vlady has answered this many times. Though I see that one could come to other conclusions - if there are individual plays then it should be no problem to show assists. On the other hand we have no real reason to not believe in individual plays, or have we, novakoni?

@Spike
I am a believer - I believe they will make improvement - otherwise I wouldn't play (and pay) this game
