They are two completely different aspects of the game... one is about the lack of transparacy and the other is about forcing managers to create a certain type of player.
As for the tables, these show a distinction between big, medium and small. Not what you call quantifiable numbers.. When we look at a goalie, for instance, speed and technique have a big influence and passing and heading have a small influence. Compared to what? Each other? The main skill? What is big? What is small?
Also, players move on the pitch, so depending on their position they need a different distribution of the skills. How are we to know to which position our players move? The match report is respresentational only.. the names mentioned in it are not necessarily the players in the formula.
As for comparing scouted values to player ratings, there is no way to tell in what way a skill influences a rating because the ratings are rounded!! I've proposed the idea to change the representation of individual ratings to at least 2 digits after the komma. It will improve things a bit, but with energy, experience, position, chemistry and penalties influencing the rating as well there is no way to determine what caused a shift in rating (except for the first game, if a player has 100 energy/chemistry/0 experience/etc.).

Two pages back he posted skills of two players and both are trained very similarly, yet the first one which is probably trained better but just by a few percents get's a higher rating, despite the fact the second player has almost 5 times the experience of the first one. This tells us the ideal way of training is very narrow and the line between a good player and a penalized player is very thin. So not only the extremely low or high skills are penalized.
And he's right, in the guide there's not even a word about penalizing players, let alone formations but that's another discussion.

Mh, I would say 16% of the primary skill is very low!
And, btw, there need not to be something in the guide explicitly about penalizing imho. It's for us to find out.

Of course it would be better if the ratings were bigger or had more digits. That's definitely right. And generally it would be nice if we would have more information.
But still, if you have many players scouted, the ratings (let alone the GK-Rating) will tell you a lot abut the skills, experience influence and so on. Things get better the more players you consider (better statistics). Don't compare 2 players, compare 30.
For me it's part of the fun that we initially don't know a lot about good skill distributions. And this leads to differently trained players - and the different aspects in a match make sure we will most likely always have some variations.

Problem is:
* Some things in guide could be misleading
* Live coverage is totaly misleading
It should be cleare and transparent

* Yes, but one of the clear things are the tables with skill importance.
* There you are right, but is has been often said that live has lots of 'flavor' in it.

Well - I helped few new managers at start
First I say - read the guide and then start with questions
When they read the guide and watch live coverage - they are pretty much at wrong path - that's mi experience.
Guide is written (IMO) in way how PPM team would like to present game - not how game really works - that's ok - but as I said - could be misleading.
In some points - they should be more honest and direct.

Have you read the guide?
Player who is currently serving a suspension has an icon indicating this in his profile and on the Line-up page. Moving your mouse over this icon reveals the name of the competition for which the suspension is valid and the number of matches.
So...no.

Yeah I saw that, but I wasn't sure if it was for all European leagues (except superleague) or just for the one specified. Thanks for the answer.
