8 points of passing would then be more important than:
10 attack points, 4 shooting points, 12 speed points, 33 heading points and 51 experience.
I would hardly call that a 'low importance'.

You have to think about the relations:
Player A: 29/120 is roughly 25%, which seems to be ok.
Player B: 21/130 is roughly 16%, which by any means is too low for a secondary.
The thing about too low secondaries was widely announced last season. And they don't need to write that in the guide, because it's one of the things we need to find out ourselves.

so the only important thing in this game is skills in relation to other skills?
That's rediculous. That means everyone is creating the exact same players (just on a different pace due to facilities and quality). No differentiation in a strong-heading forward or a quick forward or a passing forward... they will be the same.
also.. as these things apparently have such a massive influence on the game, it should be as clear as daylight in the rules. How on earth will new managers know what to do? It's not like they will go through all the announcements that have been made since the start of this game..

Forget the 33 heading point, this is to much and have no influence on your player's rating!
Giving to much points in secondaries is useless for their rating... (but may be usefull for goal scoring in some way)
I don't say that your ratings aren't strange but i look at the diferences and I try to understand!

what do you mean, they have no influence? Higher heading won't make him score more heading goals because part of his skills aren't being used due to the fact that he is 'out of balance'?
Ok, you got to admit that is utter crap if that's the case.

I say that it has no influence on RATING not on goal scoring ... that's 2 diffrents things!
i thought rating was one of the determiners in the formula used for goal scoring.
No, not everyone has to create the exact same players. There's a range you can form your players as you want. But your player is out of range and so he gets a punishment for it in his rating!
But he got much more exp...his raiting shouldn't be that bad!
Train him passing and in a week you can report

if a <10% difference in one skill (8 skill points) already has such a huge impact, there's a pretty darn small range you can work in, don't you think?
If you look at the guide, there are 2 tables for attributes importance:
- one for the balance of players
- one for the games action (shots, corners etc...)
That's why I think that the 2 things are differents ... (I can be wrong but that's the way I think
)
And as BeeJay says there is some range in training balance!

It's just one point in rating? Maybe player A has got rating 12.6 rounded 13 and player B has got rating 12.4 rounded 12?!?!
most likely, yes, but the penalty he gets must be bigger than the contribution of:
10 attack points, 4 shooting points, 12 speed points, 33 heading points and 51 experience.
Especially the experience, which is said to be so important, should outway the penalty.. but it clearly doesn't.
Now I need to calculate the skills proportion of all my players to see if it fits to some bullocks percentage distribution.

Guide "Each player has a certain area of effect and he influences the play around himself. The player has the biggest influence on the play in his sector. To a certain extent he influences the play in the adjacent sectors and his influence on the more distant sectors is very small."
