You have to use the market and have to use it effectively, it's a core part of the game and where it's made and broken. When my team was constantly growing and playing well I would always move assets, buy players on the cheap who were plug ins that upgraded in the immediate.

Then everyone started leaving 3-4 seasons ago and I've just had it on cruise. There just isn't the fun - the market is mainly filled with the same 1 atty crap, people keep buying it. Rich stay rich with minimal effort, weak do slowly gain ground. I am really interested to start seeing the FA wars, it's the next progressions.

Is the market that important? Check out my team, I only have 4 players that I didn't pull from my youth school.

I've made 274,463,774 total from player sales and only spent 31,442,663 over nine seasons.

It's certainly possible that my YS has been above average, and you could definitely argue that my team could be much better if I had actively played the market, but it is definitely possible to build an extremely competitive team mostly in-house.

And it's more fun to do it your own way then "well everyone else is doing this, if I don't do it too I can't keep up"

Your team isn't even close to the Army or the Force. I agree you've done a good job with in house talent but it's not even a close one.

best overall AQ guy I've been offered since I hit 15 is 78. I usually rate everyone by positional quality; no one there higher than 85. I've NEVER pulled anyone higher than 83 AQ yet in all the seasons I've played.

I currently have 7 guys from my SA starting on the team and 2 top subs are also from the SA; it's misleading because Guerra and Gallant are both purchases from other American teams.

Uhg, I get scored on in the 58th minute to lose in a game where I hit on tactics and had 71% offensive zone time in the 3rd period.
