I think that first game is the lowest scoring game I've seen!
That's also quite the swing! Both teams were hungover the first game?

I know insult was taken but not intended earlier as I tried to pin down importance of blocking (Defense)
please see my game today:
http://basketball.powerplaymanager.com/en/match-report.html?data=20150964938
My game ratings 32-32-32-36 = 33
his game rating 36-35-35-31 = 34
His game importance very high/vh/vh/vh
my- game importance norm/norm/low/ very low
There are other variables of course
but the stunning one and only difference is obvious
Every individual rating his way as well
As I asked before and really no insult intended at all, doesn't this mean something?
This game was never close

While I get your point one thing you can't do in basketball is look at one game and say this is why they won. A team could win 95% of the time against the same team using the same tactics but then they lose and u take their tactics as the reason why.
That being said obviously defense is important, how important is hard to say. I think you put too high of importance on training defense and your opponent puts too low of importance on it, but that's just my opinion

There's the rub
If I put too much importance on defense then I need to stop and make better use of my training, that's why I'm asking...I'm not here to say that my way is better frankly I don't know, thus this exercise,
My record in the league is dominant and my edge is always D..Though I struggled in my first go round in Div 1

Well the way I try to look at it...what do the best teams do to have success. I'm not just talking about top teams in Canada but I look at top teams in ppm.
FWIW the player you have for sale that's on the U17 team looks like one of mine, well rounded with blocking as his highest skill!!
And why does it say in my post earlier that
"The post was reported to moderator."
What did I do wrong
and who is so sensitive that they find it offensive?
Can't understand this at all
just trying to figure out the importance of blocking
Sheesh!

Just like I won vs you for no reason last week looool
Lol exactly, it's easier in hockey. You see it was 52-15 in shots and had better shooting and goaltending but lot 2-1. You say that sucks balls but know u just got unlucky. In basketball it's alot more complicated then that. Only way to truly know is experts estimate
yea his blocking Q was really high in blocking so was trying something different with him and make him a defensive specialist to shutdown other players go to guys. Don't know if that strategy works but most my other guys the blocking would be even with other stats
"but most my other guys the blocking would be even with other stats"
Which brings us back to the original question on the PG's
Very low Blocking but very high Passing and high Tech & Speed as opposed to a more balanced approach

Well first I believe PGs are meant to be more offensive then defensive. Think about the NBA, what's better, a superstar on defense PG or a superstar on defense C or PF. That's just my belief but doesn't mean I'm right.
Secondly let's look at ratios.
SHT and BLK aside, the proper ratio for stats are as follows.
Very big influence -5
Big influence -4
Medium influence -3
Small influence -2
Very small influence -1
So PG would be 5-4-4-1-1
If we look at your PG his blocking is almost as high as his passing (which has a very big influence) so your build is saying blocking has a very big influence. Also your agr and Jmp is high
Now SF it would be 3-3-3-3-3
If blk and sht are even wit every thing else...that's still only saying blocking has medium influence not very big influence

Btw, about the ratios I just gave...it's the secret that isn't really a secret. Most managers who have it figured out prefer to not help everyone else out and let them figure it out for themselves so that they can have an advantage*cough*canucks*cough* but I can assure you those are the proper ratios. SHT and BLK there are many theories but the main stats those are for sure the proper ratios
I agree, this is the standard ratio but you may vary it depending on your team "strategy" - motion cc continuity or run and gun vs slow attaks. Some team value more tactics than use the related strategy and train their players with a slightly different ratio than what was given in the guide!
For blocking for sure it is important - last year my C win the title of best blocker with a ratio 10blocking 6jump 6agr 4technique 3speed 2pass! Don't know if this could happen for a PG and what is the best at this position???
