Something to keep in mind on upgrading also. Unless it has been chaged that is. While upgrading, you lose the income from that section. That is the reason I do the full monty on building stadium.
This was back when I played hockey, and it could have been changed. I am not willingto test it right now.

yep. I think that's what happens with any arena construction. so if you do the full monty triple-floor, you're still without those seats for 100 days.
I was just wondering how it all worked so i could do a benefit-cost evaluation for it all. it's significantly cheaper to do all 1000 triple-floors (you can then do all the luxury box and restaurant upgrades while you wait to do the full upgrade later on). At this point in the game, 80mil is a lot to hoard away, you know?
But you're right, more days in construction is definitely more money lost.

Takes about 3 seasons to get it back give or take. But you never have to deal with that one again. Its more cost effective in the long term to spend the 81m and be out the 100 days than being out 70 days for 1000 seats then 50 days for the upgrade down the road. Plus you get the 1500+ extra seats towards the following : Media deal, ticket sales and Souvenirs.
Minimum triples are also pretty expensive in terms of construction cost per seat and maintenance per seat. You get better value every step up the ladder in stand size.
Re: Media deal...
As long as you time it properly lol. With 100 days construction, you basically have like a week or two to start that sucker at the beginning of a season in order for it to count in your media deal calculation.

The way I see it is this... you might get better value in other upgrades along the way, but you also only get 1/2 of the construction cost back when you demolish those stands to upgrade (so every time you upgrade to an intermediate stand, you're throwing a bit of money away).
The 1000 triples are the only ones you can do reasonably early on (only 10mil more than max single multi purpose) where you don't lose money from having to deconstruct in order to upgrade.
I'm not saying that one should exclusively do 1000 triples and then upgrade, but at the start of the game like this, where money is incredibly tight, it might not hurt to do a couple so you can up your cash flow a bit more.
Then once you (much later on) build all the others straight to 2500 triples, you upgrade them the extra 1500 when you have a non-construction seating capacity of 12500-15000.
But then, I'm just thinking out loud here...

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply building intermediate stands was worthwhile. I'm a firm believer in going from max small stand ups -> max large stand ups -> the largest triple floor multi(s) you can afford that will finish before the next media deal is signed.
What I don't agree with is the thought that if you have 80 million, you should build two minimum TFMs instead of one maximum. You get more seats with one maximum and have only one section under construction during the next season instead of two. And you don't have to upgrade it later, so you aren't losing more days of ticket sales down the road.
I'm also not suggesting you hold out upgrading till you have the full 81 million. I think you should save up as much as you can and build the biggest section you can afford that will finish in time.

oh gotcha. yeah, that definitely makes sense.
anyone who upgrades two 1000 triple stands at the same time instead of just going with a 2500 is... well... not smart lol.
But yeah, I'm following you now.

not necessarily. one could not have enough money at the deadline to build 2500, so builds the 1000. then few weeks later have enough to build another 1000 before the deadline. I'd have built the second 1000.
In case i could not build a second 1000 i'd save till the end of the season and build the max i could.

honestly, I'd rather take out a loan for the remaining portion and pay a couple of million in interest fees than do two 1000s.
The increased benefit of having the 2500 instead of two 1000s would definitely outweigh the loss of a few million to interest (when you account for future construction time needed, and the fact that you paid almost as much for 500 less seats).

i take a loan too.. But you could, perhaps, have sold a player allowing you to build another triple.
just saying that a person is not stupid, by default, for building 2 1000s. It may just happen that way.
At any time I have a chance to build at deadline I will. Usually I wait (collect money) till the max deadline for the max amount of money.
PS: I built a 1000 this season at the last day using a loan ...
next season i plan to build a 2500 and maybe at one point another 1000.

haha I like the disclosure there at the end. =)
Apologies if you felt personally affected by my comment.
We could probably go around in circles for days talking about different conditions, contingencies, and strategies where it might make some sense to do it differently.
Sorry for the generalization. I thought it was implied that I was talking about a window where building the 2500 would factor into sponsorship offers.

I think the really bad is to get multiple 1000s when neither or not all finidh on time. When one cant, just save to build a max after signing the bonus
