Subject: USA U-18 Team

Thank you everyone! I will post a list of players within the next few days.

The United States won today against Slovenia, 3-2. The win was a bit of a surprise since Slovenia looks like they should be the favorite the group. The captain, Dupuis, was the star of the game, contributing a goal and an assist. The United States gave up 3 penalties to Slovenia's one, but it was the United States, on Richard Jacob's game winning goal, that scored the only powerplay goal. Credit also goes to starting goaltender, Ralph Lenhart, for giving up one less goal on an equal number of shots against a team with good shooting.

Yesterday, the United States lost to Portugal, probably the next favorite after Slovenia, 4-2. The United States somehow gave up 7 penalties and 3 power play goals in that game, not scoring on 3 chances. Reif scored the two goals for the United States. The United States had won against Portugal in two recent exhibition games but lost when it counted, playing extremely undisciplined. I warned the coach to get a better handle on his players after yesterday's game if he valued his job.

The remaining games will be easier, though truthfully, just about every game is a coin toss in this group. In all of the games, the United States has slightly weaker offense, but significantly better shooting, especially against Denmark. The United States had better defense than all 4, especially Belgium. The United States has notably weaker goaltending than Canada and Belgium and is about even with Denmark. Primarily based on shooting, I think the United States has a good chance.

In the other games today, Denmark beat Canada 4-3 and Portugal beat Belgium 2-0. The United States is now in 3rd place, beating Denmark on a GF tiebreaker and 1 GD out of second place. Slovenia is only 1 point behind (with the most dangerous team - this tournament is already starting to resemble last season) and Canada is only 2 points behind. Portugal is one win and 5 GD ahead of the United States.

The United States won again today against rival Canada, 5-3. Canada was possibly the toughest opponent remaining (if only by a little). The United States failed to convert on 5 power plays but also gave up no power play goals and even scored a shorthanded goal. Captain Sheldon Dupuis led the team to victory once again with 3 points.

In the other games, Denmark and Belgium both won 4-3. The United States is now in 2nd place. They also are tied for the most goals in the tournament. The top 4 teams are tied with 6 points, Slovenia has 2 points, and Canada has 1 point. One more win out of the next two games would guarantee the United States a spot in the playoffs (one loss by Canada and Slovenia would also work). Slovenia and Canada have already played each. Basically, it's very unlikely that the United States could miss the playoffs at this point.

Tomorrow, the United States will play tournament host Denmark. Denmark has a similar team but with significantly weaker shooting, though they are currently projected to make the playoffs. The winner of the game is guaranteed to make the playoffs.

Sheldon Dupuis leads th in the tournament with 6 points. Jonas Cliff is in second place with 5 points. Johnny Reif is tied with two other players for third place with 4 points. Cliff and then Dupuis hold first and second place respectively for assists. Johnny Reif is tied with two players for first in goals. Jacob and Knapp are both tied for second for points by defensemen.

This is the list of players I need to have scouted by day 13 of next season and can't cover with my scout. I already covered leagues II.2, II.1, and I.1. I still need to look through division III and division IV, as well as the 15 year olds.

I also already have a lot of the better players already scouted. For instance, I only asked for Tyler, Ciesla, and Chance from the Salt Lake Karma, but I already have Hardy, Gamble, Gunn, Nowland, Oconnor, Braun, and Jones scouted.

Some players might be located on a team's transfer list instead of their roster. In addition, most of the best players are already scouted or possibly on the U18 roster. These are mostly the remaining players who are within the range that I am willing to consider for the national team.

Please try to upload any players scouted after the next season starts. There are 32 players so far. I tried to divide them into 4 or so somewhat even groups for the 4 volunteers. Whoever posts first can take the first group, and so on.

I imported Michael Christianson. he wont be ready in the next 2 seasons as his ratio is horrible

Christiansen was right on the borderline - he would need to have had a surprisingly good EQ to have a chance.

I was also intereseted in Booth and Connelly. I have them on my scouting list, though they are both in the same situation as Christianson.

that is because i wasnt training my players. too many players to take care.

now that i decided to demote i didnt need the veterans and i can pay attention on the young ones. Lucky ones will the top prospects 15yo i pulled this season

I should have the above players covered. I will post another list of more players to scout a little later. I am looking through the lower divisions now and will also go back to look through the 15 year olds.
