Brewer scores on a 5-3 power play off a breakaway! Assists by Witherspoon and Jackson. 6-4 United States.
Switzerland was just too undiscipliend. Switzerland took 7(!) penalties compared to 1 taken by the United States. The United States scored 3 power play goals and won by 3 goals.
If you want the scouting to go faster and you have the people you can take some from the bottom of my list.
Can you take the bottom half of Ziggy00's list? I'll copy the player's from the message I sent to Ziggy00.
Can you take the bottom half of the list I sent to Cory Martin? I'll send you a message and copy the player's from the message I sent to him.
Thank you for offering, but I think that I have enough volunteers at this point.
The United States beat Switzerland 7-4 today. Special teams made the difference again as the United States scored 3 power play goals. The United States also dominated the faceoff circle, winning 58.5% of the faceoffs. Butler's save percentage took a hit, but the offense more than compensated. 3 different lines contributed to the offense today.
In the other games, Lithuania won 2-1 against Italy and Slovenia won 2-0 against Belgium. Belgium remains in 1st with only a 1 GD lead on the United States, both with 6 points. Lithuania is in third with 6 points and 4 GD behind the United States at 0 GD. Slovenia jumps into 4th with 3 poitns and -2 GD. Switzerland falls to 5th with 3 points and -3 GD. Italy falls to last place with 3 points and -4 GD. The United States can clinch a playoff berth with a win in either of the two remaining games. Even a single point would leave the United States with a very good chance of making the playoffs.
Tomorrow, the United states faces Lithuania. On Wednesday, the United States will face Belgium, hopefully with the option to rest in preparation for the playoffs. Slovenia will play Italy and Belgium will play Switzerland tomorrow.
In the other division, Portugal has likely clinched the playoffs with 9 points while Sweden is likely facing relegation with 0 points and -8 GD. Of the remaining teams, the United States matches up well against most of the teams, though Switzerland and Belarus have slight advantages while Slovenia remains dangerous. Luckily, the United States wouldn't have to face Slovenia or Switzerland before the semifinals, and even then, it would only be able to face the team in an odd or even position depending on whether the United States is in an odd or even position respectively in its division.

Yeah, they'll be uploaded next Monday after the season changeover.
The United States lost to Lithuania 3-1 today. The difference was a late shorthanded goal by Lithuania and an empty net goal. The game was otherwise even. Dupuis provided the lone goal for the United States.
Despite the loss, the United States has about an 80% chance of advancing to the playoffs. Switzerland lost 3-2 to Belgium on a late goal and Slovenia defeated Italy 2-1. Tomorrow, the United States plays Belgium, Slovenia plays Lithuania, and 5th place Switzerland plays 6th place Italy. The United States is guaranteed at least 5th place. A win would guarantee a playoff spot. Even if the United States loses, it would still hold onto a playoff spot if the winner of Italy-Switzerland fails to catch up in goal differential (a difference of 7 or 6 respectively and the United States would win the GF tiebreak against Italy) or Slovenia loses to Lithuania but gains less than 4 GD on the United States. On the other hand, with a regulation win against Belgium by 2 or more goals, the United States would pass Belgium and clinch 2nd; it would take first if it wins by more goals than Lithuania or if Slovenia doesn't win by 4 more goals than does the United States. in other words, the United States still has a good chance at first place. Of course, Lithuania and Belgium have both clinched the playoffs and are likely to rest tomorrow (making a win against Belgium even more probable).
The United States has an advantage against Belgium in every area but defense. Slovenia should be favored against Lithuania. Italy and Switzerland are more or less even. Iin the other division, Portugal is likely 1st and the loser of Belarus-Romania 4th, while Austria is likely to hold onto 2nd. I would like to avoid Belarus but wouldn't mind the other matchups, especially against Austria and Romania who have weaker goaltending. I think that Portugal (with a loss) or Romania (with a win) are the most likely opponents for the United States. With a win, the United States would be most likely to face the winner of Austria and Slovenia should the United States advance to the semifinals.
Hopefully everything will turn out well tomorrow.

Despite outshooting Belgium 36-22 and having 5 more power plays, 6 total, the United States lost in overtime to Belgium. Once the United States entered overtime, 4th place was guaranteed. The United States scored on a 5-3 powerplay off of a goal by Wes Austin. Belgium tied the game on a short handed goal.
It is unclear who the United States will face in the next round, as Portugal and Austria are tied for all tiebreakers, so there will be a lottery. Should the United States win the next game, it would play the winner of Slovenia-Romania (likely Slovenia) for promotion to the top division.
The United States is evenly matched with Portugal with a slightly stronger offense. The United States has better goaltending and offense but weaker defense than Austria. Portugal has a strong first line offense and otherwise average lines. Austria has a good first line offense and generally above average defensive liens.
