Does sending a player to camp now disallow them from playing in the World Championships? Still don't know how camp and international teams interact.
Not at all, unless there has been a recent change. Players in camp will still play international games. In fact, in the past, the majority of the team is often in camp during the World Championships (I guess it works out so that the World Championships are after the playoffs). Since the camp bonus is generally greater, the player should just get the camp bonus. By not calling a player up to the team, the camp bonus, instead of being wasted, can be given to another player, however, this is done at the cost of that player gaining chemistry for the week. It is still generally preferable that a player go to camp before the World Championships so that the player has the maximum OR possible.
If a player is also playing in a relegation game, then the player will play in both games but with lower energy for the World Championships.

In a very disappointing match today, the United States lost against Italy 3-4. Italy won the tactics battle by opting for offense, and that probably made the difference based on Italy's larger quantity of shots. The United States stayed out of too much penalty trouble but failed to convert on its one power play. The United States almost came back at the end of the game, but it was too little too late. At the very least, -1 is the best possible GD for the loss. Facing a ton of shots, Butler was still .strong in net, keeping his save percentage above .900. The first line generally did its job, contributing much of the offense, its offense starting the tournament at nearly 200.
Tomorrow, the United States faces Slovenia. This will be the hardest game of the tournament, though it is still very much a winnable game. The next two against Switzerland and Lithuania will be coin flips, and the United States should be able to beat Belgium unless it is unluckky.
Luckily, Slovenia was already upset today by Switzerland, and Lithuania by Belgium. The United States is actually in a playoff position at the moment despite the loss due to its low GD. While the start to the tournament was disappointing, it is still promising.
With two points each, both stars, Austin and Lance, are among the league leaders. Despite the loss, Butler has the second best save percentage in the division, second only to Belgium's goaltender.
Good luck tomorrow to the United States U18, U20, and Senior National Hockey Teams.

If anyone has some spare space and nothing better to do with their scout, I could use some help. There are about 90 players that I won't be able to scout, though all of them are 15 year olds or older players that will need to have better than expected qualities and attributes and play in a position that lacks depth to have a chance of making the team. I will post a list of all the players (it would be great if anyone already turns out to have some of these players scouted) after today's game. I will also post the related scouting requests to the website. If a player is not on the list and has national team potential, then I probably already have the player scouted or queued. Any volunteers should post below.
I've scouted everyone who I currently see as having a shot at the senior team and am working my way through US I.1 teams, so I can make some space and help out.
Powerplay goal by Raymond Napier! Moving him up to the first power play unit has paid off.
17 year old Sheldon Dupuis scores the empty netter with an assist by Raymond Napier. The United States has defeated Slovenia 2-0 and improves to 1-1 with +1 GD. This was a very good upset against the best team in the division. The game was very even in shots and power play opportunities, but the special teams of the United States managed to clinch the game. 32 save shutout by Willard Butler.
I have slots. I think we need to focus on defensive prospects first as we lack depth at u21 and senior
I wish that it was possible to see the position of an unscouted player at a glance. Defense has definitely been one of the weak points of the United States (along with LW). I think that next year's top 6 defenders are very promising though (Parks/Touve/Jacob/Pierre/Baron/Knapp). There are about 15 players left after the players I have scouted or queued, the players that Ziggy00 and Cory Martin are covering, and the players that I should otherwise be able to cover. Can you scout 15 players in 20 days?
If you need a hand to scout players, send me a note.
Lithuania beat Switzerland by 2, which means we are ahead of both of them. Italy lost by 4, which also places us above them, and we're obviously above the winless Slovenia. That means we are in 2nd place behind the underdog, Belgium, and we've already played the strongest team in the division.
Anything can happen, but things are looking pretty good for us right now.
