How should I train my players, I didn't understand in the guide, for centers is it best to be even in offense, passing, and technique? or all offense and a little passing, and even less technique? or a double ratio for the primary to the secondary stats? if anyone could let me know, that would be great.
thanks,
BD

The most popular ratio is 2-1-1 where 2 is the primary and 1 the secondaries.
Now it doesn't take into account that shooting is very important but is never in those ratios nor that a technique close to aggressiveness value reduces the penalties taken.

Personally i use 2-1.5-1-1 for centers (off-shoot-pass-tec), OR... for shooting i base it on the quality of the shoot attribute, and train that quality % in relation to offense.
So for example, if the shooting quality is 70%, then i would train shooting attribute to 70% of that players primary (offense) attribute.

hmm,thats really interesting!
When I will have a good trainning center, think I will do this

Thanks guys. Appreciate the help. When insee guys on the market getting sold, some of them have an overall of 300 their offense is in the 200's and their technique and aggression is in the 20's, is this a good player? Or just a good player for my crappy div 4 team?
That's just a crappy player. They're called one atty monsters. Usually their primary is their only good Q, so they train that to ridiculous levels compared to the rest of the attributes. Then hope some noob spends all of their money on that player just because the attack/defense/goal attribute is so high. Avoid them.
Avoid those 1-atty guys at all costs. They're not good at all.
they're as good as any one of your players.. except they demand much higher salary, and still won't do shit. they have a negative value, but unfortunately, many new managers fail to realize/understand this, and bid on them for ridiculously high amounts
Once again, thanks guys for the help. once I could buy players, I was thinking of getting a 300OV guy, but I guess it is better to wait for a good player to come along, or to train up my own guys in the 2-1-1 or 2-1.5-1-1 way and have decent players that will actually do something helpful for my team. thanks for the tips. Any others you don't mind sharing with a newb?
Your main facilities are training, regen, academy and HR. Focus on those more than the others.

Early on, yes. As your team matures they change. I will likely not put anymore cash into HR. I don't need any faster scouting and it doesn't boost your sponsor offer THAT much.
By not underestimating energy, does that mean I should not play games with high importance so they can regen to as close to 100 as possible? Also, is it better to have days off and just practise, or play exhibition games and get better by getting beat by other teams?
Playing high importance will heavily drop your players seasonal energy. The lower the energy drops, the worse a player will play.
The general thought is that your energy drops 1% of your attributes per 1 point energy loss.
So, a player with 200 offensive attribute and 90% seasonal energy would actually only be 180 offense (200*90%).
That's not confirmed by PPM, so take it only as opinion.
Point is, try and avoid playing high importance unless you MUST do so or at the end of the season when you can afford to lose it.
As for exhibition games... i prefer to play games on all days and get the OTR boost.

You should play friendly games every day for many reasons.
